Even though this poll doesn't count, it still makes you wonder what cool-aid these 11 are drinking! Had these two teams split their matches, then I would give them the benefit of the doubt but beating Stanford twice and still vote them #1 makes no sense. Just glad committee doesn't look at this poll for seeding.

Hard to type, what with the chip on my shoulder, but I believe there continues to be a small but loud cohort that believes volleyball does not exist east of the Mississippi, let alone the Rockies. Of course that does not address why all but 4 voted for FL earlier this month.

With respect, it is possible that some voters honestly think Texas or Stanford is better than Penn State right now. It is also true that voters don't have the time to watch all the teams play. I think that with all the championships won by non California teams, the "Western bias" is not likely prevalent anymore. Finally, it is worth noting that 52 voters picked Penn State No. 1. So let's save the "chips" for eating...we will all feel better.
