Looks in to me in frame 1, but not sure it is on the floor yet. Proving yet again that I would make a terrible official, I'm not sure I see the ball in frame 2.

Looks in to me in frame 1, but not sure it is on the floor yet. Proving yet again that I would make a terrible official, I'm not sure I see the ball in frame 2. When you see it in regular motion it is easy to see that it hit the floor in frame 1. In frame 2, the ball is still inches away from her foot heading toward middle of court. The one thing I did notice is it looks like the up ref isn't looking down at the ball. There was a "Coaches Cam" for this match but the video freezes around 44 minutes. Not sure what happened on the BTN replay stream(same situation with the Net Cam). Would have liked to get that whole match in that "Coaches Cam" perspective from the end lines. This match did have the ability to ask for reviews but Shondell had already used up his 3 for the match when this happened.

The cameras are not good enough quality to be able to see the ball and make these close calls. I've noticed in several games throughout the country where they use video challenge, the video quality is not good at all. If the NCAA had super-speed cameras on all the lines, like for the National Team games, you would easily be able to make the proper call.

Washington State took USC to 5 today. WSU almost pulled off the upset. I think Penn State will move up to #1. Might not, and it really doesn't matter at all, but that's my guess. Also, I watched some of the Minnesota-Purdue match. Purdue did much better against Gophers than against us. Fwiw.

I'd just as soon USC retain the # 1 ranking. That way, we won't have to deal with USC whiners on Volleytalk. Even better, the Washington fans--who really whine--well direct all their anger at USC, although they may direct a fair amount at PSU as the likely # 2.

Penn State was guaranteed the #2 spot after the TX loss to TCU. I cannot see PSU getting #1 just yet, they need to beat MN in order to garner enough respect to jump over USC with only 1 loss. I'm more curious to see what happens to the RPI. Also, I'd really like to see PSU's 1) hitting %, 2) opponent hitting %, and 3) side-out % improving with every match from here on out. Those are the stats we need to focus on and I believe they'll get better over the next 3 matches; I'm not overlooking any opponents.

Well, the Hucksters beat Purdue 3-0. Seems like Purdue doesn't do too well against the B1G's better teams.

The Terps swept the Buckeyes! PSU better watch for their visit. Maybe they can charter them a flight on the same airline that "brought" Colorado.

The Terps swept the Bockeyes! PSU better watch for their visit. Maybe they can charter them a flight on the same airline that "brought" Colorado. Looks like MD is tougher than people expected. Can't complain that they took a set off PSU now. Maybe that's what MD needed to believe in themselves that they too can compete in the Big10.

Well, the Hucksters beat Purdue 3-0. Seems like Purdue doesn't do too well against the B1G's better teams. A look at the current BIG standings shows both IL and WI have dug themselves out of the bottom and are now in the top half of the BIG. WI is 4, IL is 7. shows how deceiving the stats were when earned on an unevenly scheduled season. Meanwhile in the bottom half lurk teams like NW, MD, and the MIs that have the capacity to take down a top team...and proof of it, too. these are treacherous waters, matey! and, yikes: PURDUE def. IOWA, 3-2... even Iowa can be scary...

Not a result, yet. But FL up 2-1 over Auburn, with Auburn up 23-21 over FL in the fourth set.

Now final: #11 Florida just lost in five to Auburn! Auburn, they gave PSU a tussle right?
I don't understand why the SEC is so well-regarded.
