I'd like to see Thelen get the award, but hard to argue against Washington's numbers.

maybe Washington DPOW and OPOW. She just simply dominated every aspect of the game.

But, she's really nice person--it's hard to call someone so nice a monster. Great to see her showing all her skills. I think she wants to bring it home from Kansas City.

Here's something to think about, for the notoriously fair B1G voters. If PSU finishes the season leading the B1G and nation with attack percentage--and it's looking like a pretty safe bet. Why not reward PSU setters with the Setter of the Year award? Sure, they haven't won a weekly award, but this might be a good way to address that oversight (and atone for that horrible 2014 selection).

I doubt the setters in a 6-2 have ever been given the award jointly -- though I never thought about it. Who will get the award? SSS? Poulter? Hilley? Lilley? Dewie? Cheatem? Howe?

Unfortunately, my $$$ is on SSS. Our setters have led the nation (combined), which is pretty astounding to consider.

And you can bet the B1G voters, famed for inside the box thinking, certainly haven't given it a moment's thought. Making it possible, and putting the idea in those closed minds, falls to the sports information department. Are they up to the task? Do they even care?

Once an idea has taken hold of the brain it's almost impossible to eradicate. An idea that is fully formed - fully understood - that sticks; right in there somewhere.

It certainly is worth more thought and discussion. Of course, it would help if Penn State wins out.

My back of the envelope calculations indicate that the team hitting percentage approaches .350 (actually .3496).

Kendall White and Haleigh Washington were both honored by @b1gvolleyball for their play this week!

And there you have it! Shared POW, but IMHO, Haleigh’s results were more significant as she did it on offense and defense.
B1G congratulations to Kendall for another week of strong defensive play!
