Ok I didn't see any volleyball today, but I understand Keeton Holcomb played a lot of libero and played very well.
If that's true that is the big news of the season so far.
Is there a connection between her and Alyssa D'Errico?
Not so surprised about setter. Rose has a really interesting choice there. I can see why he wouldn't want to sit either of them -- they both have such intriguing potential.

I'll have some comments from Coach Rose about Keeton in my writeup about the weekend that I'll post tomorrow afternoon, but when I asked if he was surprised about her progress so far he said he wasn't surprised, but he was pleased, that she has a different personality than the Liberos he's had in the past, and that she's a very good passer.

I agree. I was in Rec Hall for the tournament and Keeton played very well. Service errors reared its ugly head again. I Liked that Franti experimented with jump serve. Did she have that weapon last year? Saturday's match with Stanford is going to be interesting.

FYI here's the announcement from last spring. I didn't look at her recruiting highlights until now -- they're really impressive. She's a big-time prospect, very quick, seems to be very precise, very calm on the court and several of the highlights show her in a perfect position for a dig -- indicating she's reading the opposing hitters well. It's a little like the Micha Hancock situation -- she was all set to go to W.Va. before the coach there left, making her available for PSU. www.dignittanyvolleyball.com/dsl-keeton-holcomb-2015-verbals-to-penn-state/

Keeton looks to be the starting Libero for now. She passed very well. Her diggging will improve as she gets more experience, but again her passing is solid for a freshman. I also think Bryanna played pretty well. She does not bring the dynamics that Micha had, but she'll also improve down the line and Wilma will be able to step in in case Bryanna has some trouble. Overall, all the trepidation of who'll fill in the for the setter and the Libero positions has been addressed. I just hope they can work out some of the kinks before the next weekend's big matches
