At some point in the past few weeks, at a secret location somewhere in the Swiss Alps, or else in Iowa, or somewhere else, the DigNittanyVolleyball Forum moderators met to vote on the winner of the First Annual DigNittanyVolleyball Forum James Brown Award. Suggested by gnu2vball and named in honor of James Brown, the "Hardest Working Man in Show Business," the award recognizes the Forum member whose contributions to the DigNittany community go above and beyond. And then above and beyond that. This year's award winner was easy to choose -- the decision was unanimous. So join with us, and put your hands together, ladies and gentlemen -- give it up for psumaui!!!
Even creating a partial listing of psumaui's contributions to this forum is exhausting, as he maintains threads for: every match video; 2017 Weekly Results; Other Matches to Watch; and more. Where does he find the time? Who knows. But one thing we know, after all his work, he certainly will enjoy the special prize we've put together to thank him: A one week vacation in Maui, Hawaii! Should be great
For a sense of the work psumaui puts in for the rest of us, take a look at this video of James Brown performing. And thanks again, psumaui, we appreciate it! Enjoy your vacation!

This will be an annual award, with a prize every year to a special place selected by the winner (as long as it is in the town in which they currently live, and they agree to stay in their current residence). Pretty sweet, yes?

Thank you all! I humbly accept this award! The first thing I did while on vacation in beautiful Maui was to cycle this wonderful island. Here are some pictures from my vacation that I would like to share Starting a nice easy 60 mile bicycle ride. This was a 95 mile race around the island Climbed up Haleakala (volcano) Got to play some Texas Hold- EM with some locals. (me front right) Beautiful scenery along the coast of Maui during my bicycle ride After a few days of bicycle riding then it's off to hike around the crater of Haleakala Gets a little cold up there at 8,000 feet. Later I hiked to this great 400 foot waterfall near the town of Hana on East coast afterwards I stopped in to visit Lindbergh's grave

Yes, thank you psumaui. You are the BEST!! I, for one, appreciate all you do for us. Beautiful photos, hope to see it all someday.
I hope you will all enjoy my "vacation" in Berks County, PA (home of Taylor Swift) when I win. I have a special in at her high school...and a picture of her brother with my daughter on Colonial Day in 5th grade. Remember these things for the next vote.

I like the one here with the PSU jersey!! I was watching some of yourcross-country biking videos a few months back, which I thought was really cool. I told a friend of mine who bikes in Europe. He said going cross country on a bike takes a lot of planning and guts! Hey, I didn't realize that Lindbergh was buried there. I recently visited Ernest Hemingway's house at the end of the Florida Keys (Key West). The big question is... who won the card game?

Don Quixote is for lost causes. James Brown was the "Hardest Working Man In Show Business." Who better to name an award for the hardest worker?

PSUM:
We noted that some of the work you did this year -- incredible on its own -- was even harder because of the infrastructure/internet/connectivity issues you've had.
With today's photos, you've confirmed (dare I say for all of us) how much it sucks to live in Maui.
And here I thought that PSU fans in PA had it bad, having to drive 3+ hours to see a match (and never leaving the state).

Sorta like trying to find common ground with some of Volleytalk's more hard over bozoids, or trying to have a rational give-and-take on VolleyTalk's politics site.

Glad you liked them, I have about 35 more of my cross country cycling videos to upload yet I had fun and enjoyed my daily rides going cross country even when climbing the mountains there in the mainland. If you do it you want to be able to have no set finish date and you will have a lot more fun. One thing I learned about planning the trip is you have to be flexible on stop points and distances. Thanks, I do plan on doing a Maine to Florida ride in the future and will check out Hemingway's grave site. As for Lindbergh, he visited here and loved Maui and later in life when he knew he was going to die he came back over here to be buried on a beautiful bluff overlooking the ocean. As for the card game, If I remember right, I ended up taking all the chips that day We military retirees here do this every Labor Day weekend for 3 straight days of camping and fishing by the ocean.
