Don't know how to feel about this: RU brags about its floor... Rutgers volleyball debuted its brand new Taraflex playing surface at the College Ave. Gym upon the opening of 2017 Big Ten play against Iowa on Sept. 22, 2017.
With the floor's installation, the Scarlet Knights become one of just 26 NCAA Division I programs to utilize Gerflor USA's Taraflex floor, the exact surface used at the last 11 Summer Olympic Games. The portable Taraflex floor at Rutgers, featuring RU's signature colors, fonts and logos, is the only one of its kind among collegiate programs in the Northeast region and one of just nine to be used by a Power 5 institution across the nation.
This blurb makes it appear that RU is willing to invest in the program. Would this have been a better idea later?
hope these work, copied from RU WVB Schedule...

Our girls will try to put a few dents in their new floor. Haleigh says, "Game On.".

no, but we are not using a court with basketball markings. I'm not sure whether it's an improved surface from a player standpoint. I believe NCAA, as well as tourneys inside convention centers (concrete floors) used to use a thicker padded floor. The one RU has I think is a newer development. Looks like it's a bit more complicated to install/pull up.

I think it was refinished about three or four years ago. Many times, those floors have enough "give" in them to be good playing surfaces--especially for the players knees..

As ugly as it was, I'd like to see them maintain that intensity.
