I think Howard deserves some credit for excellent defense. We hit .333, they hit .085. I am actually not upset. We won and will play a more traditional opponent tomorrow.

I think Howard deserves some credit for excellent defense. We hit .333, they hit .085. I am actually not upset. We won and will play a more traditional opponent tomorrow. As I said I hope Pitt went to bed early. I fear they might have learned bout PSU vulnerabilities if they watched. |

Howard passed extremely well and covered the floor well. Dug up all Thelen's attacks and a bunch of Lee's.
BTW: one of my pet peeves...not going after a ball in the back court and waving arms that it was out. Russ looks to dennis who's sitting right at the line. he motions 'in'. I thought Russ taught them not to let the close ones go.

My theory is that we could not find a rhythm against such inconsistent and short hitters. Set three and four the blockers were doing better so the back row could line up in the correct spots. Defense is all about timing and positioning. |

Florida in a good second round match against Miami. Tied 1-1. After set one Florida started having passing problems with Miami’s serve. Remember, no spoilers.  You can post scores of other matches in the weekly other matches thread. |

Our setting was off this match, seems both Abby struggled at times and passing broke down at times. It happens and it's better that they get this set loss out of the way early in the tournament. I'm hoping this is a much needed wake up call for the remainder of the tournament, and that other teams don't see this as blood in the water (ie, gives them the belief they can beat us). |

Seems like the BIG just thought they could take a mini vacation after conference play. They are making me look bad. I had all the BIG teams in first round except Michigan I believe. Wisky prob looked the strongest of all conference teams in first round |

Just curious if anyone went to match how crowd was. Seemed empty. Was so quiet. Usually psu matches are loud.
