Mizzou's #14 OH Deeken seems to have not so much lived up to her potential ... until a booming game v. WSt. She was responsible for 17.5 pts. for the night, including 16 Ks.
#4 S Eckenrode is 5'9". She looks really talented, but I cannot believe her height won't give her challenges v. PSU.
Mizzou posted 70 -- 70!! -- digs. We'll have to have our pin hitters adjusting mid-air to target just the right spots if we don't want to find ourselves in prolonged rallies.

True, but getting to watch on the "U" is a price with paying. I think it's great (choking fingers again) that ESPN is making a concerted effort to bring more of the tournament to TV. Half of the Sweet 16 on the tube? Unimaginable a few years ago. I wonder if PSU will get Karch and Sunderland?

All in all, I prefer for women to broadcast women's sports. Title IX shouldn't stop at the exit from the locker room.
Unless they want an all-woman team coaching and broadcasting men's sports.

I have no problem with women doing volleyball. I've gone on record saying I like Beth Mowins --a pity she "moved up" to football and hoops. I only mentioned Karch and Sunderland because I think ESPN sees them as their A team. My BTN favorite is Liz Tortorello Nelson. men and women both. I like Mike Wolfe next.

They lost to Florida 3-1 twice; taking two sets from Florida is nothing to sneeze at. This might give us a good gauge on where we stand relative to the remaining SEC teams. I have a hard time taking Missouri seriously. I hope Coach Rose and the team aren't so dismissive.

I am, however, certain that Coach Rose is not dismissive at all, and is going to great lengths to ensure that his team is not dismissive either. Consequently, I am certain that the team is not dismissive. Reduxio ad non dismissimato.

You should not overlook anyone. I believe there once was someone named Goliath that did that. Did not turn out well

All in all, I prefer women in most things. Sports broadcasting included. I like Beth Mowins doing football for example, and loved when she corrected Matt Millen during the broadcast of the PSU/MD football game (Matt got the number of PSU WVB National Championships wrong).

I can't believe that the ladies would take Mizzou lightly. Last weekend demonstrated how much hard work is needed to win each match.

Please note that Missouri has a player who signed originally with Michigan, One who signed with Nebraska and another who I believe signed with Illinois. They all were in the top 100 in their graduation years and possibly in the top 50. So not taking them seriously with their serving skills would be a huge mistake that Russ will not make.

It's good to have a coach who notices things like that (and fellow posters who remind me of my lazy nature).

He's feeling like he shanked three straight serves, and his confidence appears to be shaken. We need him for the tournament.
