OF. FREAKIN. COURSE. They play three matches about 10 minutes away from me in September...during the weekend I am at an out-of-town wedding. RAGE...BUILDING... If you were a real fan, you would ensure that the couple-to-be breaks up and cancels the wedding

Not playing at home for the month of September seems to put a heavy burden on the team: lots of travel, missing classes, always an opposing crowd and why must this be? Is there a positive in such an experience?

Through the years the reverberating comment was, "the program before the first match lasting over two weeks was the most grueling volleyball work out I or we ever experienced". This was a common place response and it elicited from Salima, "What ever happens in South Gym stays in South Gym" This may indeed be a repeat but seems like a huge risk with a large freshman class.

This was a common place response and it elicited from Salima, "What ever happens in South Gym stays in South Gym" This may indeed be a repeat but seems like a huge risk with a large freshman class. Two things: Coach Rose only has control over the pre-Big Ten schedule (and even there, he doesn't have control over the B1G/Pac-12 Challenge venue). So the only "away" matches he could have scheduled differently are the three in Washington D.C. And those three shouldn't be dauntingly challenging. I suppose I'd prefer to see more home matches in September, but if I had to choose between having that overwhelmingly "away" schedule in September (when all those freshmen will still be learning the system and developing (we hope) "connectedness," and might fall short even in Rec Hall), or in October or November (when, we hope, the team is finding its footing and getting connected, and might pull off a few upsets/big wins in Rec Hall), I'd vote for September. Again, I'd prefer more home-away balance throughout the season, but that's really up to the B1G schedule makers.

Nice increase in season ticket cost this year. From $168 last year to $211 this year.

Thank you, I've been hanging around and reading for a while, just started posting. I'll be around. Been going to PSU volleyball games since around 2005 or 2006. Moved out west for a while, seats are on the aisle of S3, have been there for 4 or 5 years now with that lovely center court aisle life.

Well, to paraphrase Bladerunner's Roy Batty, "I wish I could see what you've seen with your eyes."* *Roy was speaking to the genetic engineer who had designed his eyes and said, "I wish you could see what I've seen with your eyes."

I just made my prediction on VT regarding our regular season schedule record. I'm predicting a 24-6 record.
EDIT: I posted the regular season schedule below.

After I move from Arlington, VA, PSU finally comes to the DMV. File this under the Life's Not Fair heading!
BTW, don't know if any of you remember the comments after we beat Howard in the tourney last year. Their coach, who I get the impression knows our Coach very well, made some of the most honorable and fiercely proud comments I've heard from a losing coach. Wasn't the 'we won (even tho we lost)' thing we heard from BYU's Olmstead. Was about the pride in standing up to one of the nation's best and, coming up short, still distinguishing itself. Wasn't about lambs going to the slaughter. Was about bringing it. So impressed w/Coach Kupferberg.
