The Penn State Women’s Volleyball website now lists Virginia Pham as Director of Volleyball Operations. Prior to joining Penn State, Virginia served as the DOVO for the University of Oklahoma. Here's a write-up on Virginia from OU's website:
Virginia joined the OU volleyball staff as the director of volleyball operations at the start of the 2016 preseason. A 2015 graduate of UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, she recently completed her master’s in sport leadership at Virginia Commonwealth in 2016.
Pham will oversee the team’s travel and various video operations including in-game Data Volley input among numerous other day-to-day responsibilities.
At VCU, Pham spent a year as the graduate assistant director of operations. In her role, she coordinated team travel and meals plus film break down and statistical analysis. Pham also helped run VCU volleyball camps, and was involved with marketing, equipment, and social media.
As an undergraduate, Pham was a student manager for the men’s, women’s and beach volleyball programs at UCLA for three years. Among her various duties, she served as the team’s video coordinator, tracking matches and practices with DataVolley. Pham also assisted in the day-to-day operations, including marketing, equipment, and social media aspects of the programs.
Pham gained valuable experience at the national level with USA Volleyball in each of the past two summers. She worked as the technical coordinator for the College National Team in 2015. Later, Pham served in the same role with the Men’s Junior National Team in 2016. The team trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and took gold at the NORCECA U21 Championships in Gatineau, Quebec.
Additionally, Pham has gained professional experience with TrackMan Golf as a broadcast operator on the PGA TOUR and the Richmond Volleyball Club as an assistant coach at the youth level.
