Well, broke down and subscribed to Flo. Couldn't find another way this year. BTW. MSU's Autumn Bailey playing for CA. Whole roster full of B1G for US. Should be interesting. Love Autumn Bailey. Wish she had been a Nittany Lion. And 6-2.

if I could understand espanol, I could tell you who won...but i had a power outage in set 4. [update: USA won in 4: 25-18; 23-25; 25-23; 25-19]
Washington was on fire in set 1 and they cruised. things got much rougher in set 2, which they dropped, but they still led in blocks ~10-3. I'm down at SBUX now, and before the match of the evening w/Brazil started, the announcers were talking about Whitney, Washington, Lee (who did not play, I'm guessing due to the reported injury), and Carlini. BTW, they started w/Benson at L and by set 3, JWO was in.
BTW, in the words of the play-by-play guy, Viva! estamos tu lado!
4 black boxes means played all for sets; #s indicate Attacks, blocks, serves (aces?), total (points?)

DR crushed Brasil, esp. in first 2 sets. Set three was deuce. DR looks scary good, polished, precise.

After a very rough start and trailing 0-2, the ladies finally awoke. lots of line-up changes, including Lee being replaced by Anae early on. By set 3, Lee was back in and producing, and by set 4, DR was looking flustered. No real problem for the US in set 5.
When they took the floor initially, all 3 PSUers were starting. Pretty amazing.
Ogogbu (sp?) was awarded best blocker; I think Carlini got best setter and MVP...but the audio was difficult.
One thing the team needs if competing internationally is an etiquette coach!

Alicia Glass Childress has lots of international experience. Were they impolite in some way?

yes, during the ceremony one or more of our award winners snubbed the others international awardees, but perhaps not with the intention to do so. When six people before you have received an award and you do not follow the same behaviors as they did, i.e., greeting all the other awardees, it indicates to me that you either were uninterested in the awards until your name was called or not paying attention that would have been ideal. The same sort of thing happened last time I watched the US team at the Pan Am Games. At this level, at occasions like this, they're close to being diplomats and the team could have used a few pointers.

Great to see former PSU players playing alongside each other. There's a rotation where Lee, Washington and Whitney are lined up in front. See below.
Pool Play: USA vs CUBA
Semifinals: USA vs CAN
Championship: USA vs DOM
