Saw on volleytalk that there was a poll on the best freshman from the first weekend, and Thayer Hall was the top choice in a landslide. I didn't see any other volleyball this weekend other than the PSU matches, but I was super impressed with Jonni Parker's versatility and overall play. Would have been nice to see her show up in the poll or discussion.
It was great seeing so many of the new players get a chance to play, and I'm looking forward to seeing them all settle into new roles.

Welcome to DigNittany. You a Pitt fan? (kidding) Nope -- I bleed blue and white. Just find it funny how many different teams use the different names for the same cat, and I've registered for different sites using cougar, puma, panther, and mountain lion since it's all the same thing.

Thayer Hall had a phenomenal weekend against some very good teams and everyone noticed.
Parker is probably one of the most well-rounded freshmen I've seen in a long time. She can do it all.
I think her name will get serious recognition on VT, especially during the 3rd weekend of the season (i.e., Big10 / Pac12 Challenge).

Thayer Hall was priority #1 for Russ Rose but she doesn't like snow. I think we are going to surprise some teams this year with our girls.

How 'bout we keep JP 'our little secret' for a while? Doesn't matter who picks her; matters what she does against huskers!! Lol.
Parker and Leath both in for 6 ro made me think of Courtney and McClendon...

How 'bout we keep JP 'our little secret' for a while? Excellent advice for the team too this year. Vtalk is a ghost town for PSU fans and that is a good thing imo

I absolutely agree. We will surprise some teams this year.
But really... beating the Huskers is the only thing that matters.
And yeah, I really like Leath and Parker as 6 rotation players who can really contribute.

nyline , can you list what PrepVB rank our incoming class for 2019 received? If I recall correctly, Mr Tawa allows that for PSU recruits on here. Thanks.

I wonder if they told her that PSU plays indoors. LOL!

I guess she'll have to forego the Final Four in Minnesota.

I hope to hear back soon. I will give the hint that the highest of the three is nearer the middle of the last class (in ranking), but all three were named Top 100 senior aces. I respect intellectual property rights, so that's all I'll say for now.

Vtalk is a ghost town for PSU fans and that is a good thing imo I used to (many years ago) write to volleytalk, mostly because of this phenomenon: xkcd.com/386/But I got tired of the endless piling on of any PSU fan who dared to try to add anything to a conversation. I've lurked for about 10 years now, but I think I've only posted twice in the last few years. I'm much happier in a forum where people seem to actually enjoy talking to other PSU fans!
