As much as i agree with those who says a win is a win, I am not sure this was an improvement from last week. We needed to refine some of the areas that we are not yet good at quickly, especially the serving. We gotten away with so many service errors against less competitive teams so far, but we all know if we do not clean that area up, we'll have no chance against the likes of Stanford and some of the B1G opponents. After you read Coach Rose's post-match quotes, you might have a different perspective. The short version: there are a lot of young players on the court. They have their ups and downs. He's aware of the downs. He's glad they played through them.

Nice write-up, but I especially enjoyed seeing the pix of the former players. Did they introduce them to the crowd? I got misty seeing Micha's and Katie's pictures--how I miss them, and Aiyanna and Simone, too. I don't expect A&M to roll over, so here's hoping last night lessons carry over to Saturday night.

I didn't hear them introduced to the crowd -- these photos were after the match. Ariel Scott was in the photo with Aiyana, but her hand somehow ended up partially blocking her face (I'm quite certain it wasn't intentional), but I'll try to get her again tonight.

(Think of the Thermians in Galaxy Quest---not too obscure a reference I hope) A. Scott!? (said in quavering reverence)

I think Coach did a great job working in as many players as he could and still getting the wins. The freshmen are exciting to watch but we need to work on our serving. Go Lions.

Ariel Scott was there? Was thinking about her yesterday as I went back to watch their matches so far this year. Gotthrough the first one and half second so far and what I’ve noticed is floor defense seems to be pretty good. I’m happy they have found way to get white and Hampton on floor together a lot. Setting has been decent so far in my opinion also. The one thing I’m noticing is the attackers are hitting the ball right at people and not putting it away fast. U would watch players like Washington and hodge, McClendon, Scott etc etc they could hit the ball at a angle to put it on floor. Not sure if current players don’t have the height or jump height to put that kind of angle on the ball or not. The balls im seeing so far are more parallel to ground then perpendicular if u understand what I’m saying. Again I’ve only got though the first game and half so far which is what I’m basing opinions on. I understand they are young and those young players have been pretty good so far with the little experience that have gotten so far. Just want to see more terminal swings. I worry that they have been able to get away with it so far but may come across some problems in conference if they continue to hit at people rather then try and put it where people arnt. It’s early and for most part I’m happy with the freshman just posting my observations

Good, maybe they used up all their energy and luck on the Owls. Hans is a good server and attacker.

Will they delay the start of the volleyball game because of the overtime in the football game?
