Baylor follows up its upset win over Wisconsin...with a 5-set loss at home to UTRGV (which I had to look up: University of Texas Rio Grande Valley)

Oh yeah, UTRGV. Another favorite of mine is that IUPUI or whatever the hell it is.

They need to throw blossom into the fire and let her take her hits now opposed to next year. Why delay it? If we had a elite senior setter right now that be different but we don’t. Just get her into games more. I am no authority, but I think Weiskercher is a top setter. If Blossom was better, or even looked like she might be better soon, she would play more. If she was a top setter they would have run a different system from the one they have ran since Hancock left. She has good serve but from strictly setting perspective she’s average in my opinion. I don’t disagree that blossom at the given Moment could be weaker but how does she get stronger on bench. You can’t replicate real game emotion and if blossom has a higher ceiling that can be reached I say start letting her get work now

I totally understand your sentiment, and I agree.
However, I keep thinking to myself that I'd be the first one complaining to replace Blossom if we were losing matches.
We are fans, we can afford to throw out all kinds of crazy requests (I speak for myself, first and foremost). LOL!

If it were me I’d prob try to give her some good work next weekend in the last tourney before conference play

After dropping the first set to Marquette, BYU came back to win 3-1 (25-14 in set 4).

Bryanna brings a lot of experience to the game and sets wisely The new comers will learn from her as she is certainly one of the best in the current BIG 10

It's more a matter of doing what is best for the team now and also for next year. Sometimes it is a fine line difference.

Watching Nebraska vs ISU. Paul Sunderland just claimed Texas is visiting Penn State this Tuesday?
Is Paul on acid, meth, getting too old?
Has anyone told Coach Rose?

It's more a matter of doing what is best for the team now and also for next year. Sometimes it is a fine line difference. It seems like for this part of the season, Coach is employing a version of the 6/2 which mirrors what the National Team has been using. (eg: double sub after one full set of rotations). The theory behind this approach is to get a third hitter/blocker to the front row rather than use the setter for three of the rotations (I am bad at math, but I think rotations 12-14?). I believe that the National Team's version of the 6/2 is designed to work in the much more limited substitutions allowed under International rules. It makes a bit less sense under the NCAA's much more liberal substitution limits. The double sub also makes less sense if Bryanna keeps blocking so well (a big improvement in her game), though it definitely gives Blossom a chance to get into matches. By using this system, Blossom entered at a critical time in the first set of the Stanford match. It did not work so well that time, nor really in the Oregon match, and Bryanna was put back in to catch the team back up in Set 1 against Oregon. But we shall see if he sticks with this approach next week or during conference play. I also noticed Blossom in as DS with Bryanna a few times in both matches. While that is interesting, it does not get her match time as setter.

Who would have guessed Minnesota goes 0-2 this weekend. I still think they are the best team in the B1G followed by Wisconsin. Penn State might be third.
