What a difference a week (and two wins) make. ... and a Reed...

So Coolbean, you decked-out in PSU gear? Nah, that was last night and I am still phishstixed. For me, at least, today's win takes away some of the sting.

Psu was on road for awhile also. Prob tough for young team. Played both those conference loses without reed. I think they finally come home don’t they ?

Looked like some of the hardest hitting/thumping we've seen this season. The score does not reflect how tough MI was. Good way to toughen 'em up! And Parker's serve...when she's on....

They will come together and root out the mistakes, I have no doubt with Russ leading the way they will evolve. After all they are very talented young ladies, the key word being young.

Coach made a couple of position changes for this match versus previous matches. For most of the past matches when Brianna is serving (rotation 1) he has had Kaitlyn starting in the front row. In the Michigan match he switched up and put Serena in the front row for that rotation. That changed the serving sequence, moving Serena up so that it became Weiskercher, Hampton, Grey, Parker, Leath, White.
He allowed Jonni to serve throughout the match (on one or two occasions he subbed Gabby for Jonni after Michigan sided out on Jonni's serve). His only service sub in the match was sometimes Emily for Taylor.
I have no idea what precipitated this shuffling, but it will be interesting to see how they lineup in the next match.

Had to wait for the NFL fanatics to give up the tv, so again watched much delayed (sigh). Nice to get a national perspective from a broadcast. So Sunderland could not stop complimenting Leath's receive/pass game. Fortner acknowledged that she has not seen a set to right back elsewhere, and they had some different info from Coach than I have heard (eg: Coach wants Leath to rip it, so might not be upset that she got blocked swinging hard).
We took advantage of what was, for the most part, less than impressive service from Mich. Our serve took them out of system a lot, which led to blocks and digs. Weiskercher kept all of the hitters involved and the team D was impressive. Everyone seemed to be having fun. Great weekend with lots of improvement.

I wondered about that. He may have wanted to match up against a particular rotation but if so I could not discern which one(s).

Maybe that's what coach meant when he mentioned in a interview (after last weekend's losses) that they had identified the problem and made changes.

The impression I got from his comments was that the problem he identified was not something that could be addressed with a quick fix.
