IMO that’s somewhat expected. With Allie leaving, the coaches are probably trying to get one of the big names in the portal (e.g. Blackwell). But those big name middles are going to be in demand, so they probably are consider a lot of offers. Jurevicius seems to be a good prospect and the number of Penn State people that are following her are growing each day (atm it is, KSC, Coach Brian, Coach Dan, Alexa, Izzy, Quinn, Jess, and Ava) *crosses fingers*. Someone on the other forum insinuated a while ago that we already have a decent setter scooped up but I have 0 idea who it is and is not being discussed. The follows between Ava & Quinn are recent as of today. Hopefully that is a good sign for PSU? Also I think it was rumored that she entered the portal with a do not contact which often seems that the player knows where they want to go and dont want other contacts (Carter Booth) If my stalking suspicions are correct the setter transfer may be Aly Borellis (Ole Miss), when she was first posted on CVT insta account I noticed that AC Toron was following her but now she only follows him. I think that the coaching staff is trying to be more secretive with portal recruiting this time around last year we saw them following along with the hoards of coaches who follow players that enter the portal, this year they have been pretty silent. And yes I know its dumb for me to put stock on insta follows but 99.9% of the time its accurate. |

I’m hoping the coaching staff is waiting for Christmas to announce some of the early transfers coming in. Definitely seems like they are being a lot more secretive with who they are targeting this year and given all the hype and speculations last year I understand that approach. Either way I know the staff is working their transfer magic again!

I wonder if Iman Ndiaye will make her way (back) to Penn State. It does seem like instagram followings are the main sign of where people are committing and she is following a good amount of PSU players. Not sure how new or old those follows may be but Trammell, Markley, Mruzik, and Hannah are an interesting sign considering they’re all newer to the team.

I think someone here mentioned what if they ran a 6-2, we'll i'd say their looking like 1 good ish portal setter to come in and make that happen. I really hope Markley doesn't enter the portal, she is my favorite player and has SO much potential I'd like to see her get more opportunities!!

Could definitely see Markley and Caroline playing RS for a 6-2. And completely agree with her potential I’m praying she stays on our side of the net! This will be a big off season for a lot of the returning players.

Why would she leave? Taking what is essentially a freshman doesn’t affect her.
If she leaves, it would have nothing to do with that. She signed to play for RR. He saw something in her he believed he could develop. She gave KSC a chance to develop her and she didn’t, choosing to play transfers over her after she showed so much potential as a freshman.

I definitely don’t think there is any reason for her to leave but it could be discouraging having to continue to compete for a starting spot with transfers coming in. Although I personally would hope that would fuel them to compete harder and get better to grab the starting spot. I definitely think Markley is 2nd/3rd in the depth chart for OH and probably 1st/2nd for RS if no transfers are coming in. If she can get consistent she’s a definite starter in my book but that’s always easier said than done.
I’m more concerned with players like Willow who could experience future more experienced transfers coming in + a tall and talented class of OHs coming in soon behind her. But then again with Jess and Camryn on their last years there will be a lot of opening spots following next season so hopefully the non-starters are keeping their eyes on the future. Either way I’m just glad the gym continues to get more competitive!
