I'm not totally surprised by this one. She played less this year than last, and even if Gabby Blossom doesn't take advantage of her extra season (I have no idea whether she will or not), Rachel Muisenga, who will be a redshirt freshman next year, is a highly-touted player. Best of luck to Emily -- she seems like a good kid and player. |

Emily is a very good setter and might well have played ahead of Rachel. |

I'm on the fence here. She was seldom as productive as we needed. But then I think back to Simone Lee, who had less impact until she became a starter IIRC her junior year.
But AC was a great teammate, looks of it. And got one of the B1G Sportsmanship Awards this week.

But AC was a great teammate, looks of it. And got one of the B1G Sportsmanship Awards this week. I am a big fan of AC as the ultimate positive person -- really great demeanor and enthusiasm. I think she very likely will do well wherever she goes (if she goes -- as noted above, the portal isn't an automatic "you're gone"), but I also don't think she is the same type of terminal OH as Simone Lee. I remember in the NCAA tournament her freshman year (against Wisconsin, I think, in the Regional Finals?) she subbed in for Ali Frantti, who was struggling, and proceeded to take over the set, and really turn the match around. But who knows -- certainly not me. |
