I'm a long way from what's going on but it's obviously something very serious for so many key players to be wanting transfers. In English football (soccer), if players lose faith in their manager/coach they simply stop giving 100% and inevitably go on losing streaks. My hometown club Nottingham Forest, lost all 5 of their opening matches this season but after a new manager came in the same players have lost only one match in the last 13 and have climbed to 8th out of 24 in the league table. I haven't seen that with PSU, the team have consistently given everything they've got, but clearly something is not right behind the scenes that fans are not privy to. Much as I respect Russ Rose for his fantastic achievements before I discovered NCAA volleyball, the buck surely has to stop with him if several players suddenly all want to leave. Finally, what about the 2022 commits? Will they see what's happening and switch to other teams?

Is it possible that all of these seniors are looking for a graduate program that fits their life goals?

Very sorry to see Hord leave; she has been my favorite since she joined the team.

Former Penn State target Sophie Fischer, a member of the 2020 recruiting class, is reportedly in the transfer portal.

All we need now is for Jonni to enter and it will be a clean sweep of the vaunted 2014 recruiting class. It seems that the coaching staff has made a decision to free up scholarships for ...... ?? Or, if not, then the players, as a group, have decided that there are better places to play. Either way, it is concerning!

This is just one fewer player in the portal than the football team has--and that's a team with more than 100 athletes on the roster that is widely seen as being in near crisis after losing 5 of its last seven games and its DC. Moreover, of the four football players in the portal, only one was an occasional starter.

Good for you, I used to post more but work is interfering Our specially-trained, super skilled DigNittany Posting Agents are on to you, and you will be hearing from them soon. So get back on that "posting" horse But seriously, I'm not dropping DigNittany and Ethan is committed too. I think a core of fans has stuck with the site, though understandably it's fewer than during the championship days. So, don't lose the faith (and beware those DigNittany Posting Agents -- they can get darn right grumpy if you don't post!)

Is this Website going to survive? Yes. I don't see why anyone would think this website would disappear, it is not here for the athlete's, it is here for the fans, and regardless of who is on that team, we will be here offering our opinions, and cheering them on.

I don't see why anyone would think this website would disappear, it is not here for the athlete's, it is here for the fans, and regardless of who is on that team, we will be here offering our opinions, and cheering them on. I think it's understandable that people might think that -- traffic is less this year than during 2009, for example. People like to follow champions; also-rans, not as much. But I think we have a core group of fans now, and I think Ethan has brought a level of excellence to his reporting and social media presence that makes this site interesting, even for casual fans. We're not going anywhere, but I can understand someone thinking we might.
