volleyballmag.com/club-volleyball-dream-team-020222/OH: Chloe Chicoine, 5-10 Junior, Circle City 17 Purple (IN) — Many consider Chicoine the best “inch for inch” player in the country and she lived up to those accolades in a tremendous weekend leading Circle to the 17 Open title at Central Zones over an elite field. “She put on a highlight real throughout the tournament,” coach Chris Due said. “Teams really struggled to have an answer for her as she was flying around the court making great plays and was a force to be reckoned with on the offensive end.”

Is anyone else AMAZED that the staff got a Californian to commit after visiting during the peak of our miserably cold Pennsylvanian winter?

Is anyone else AMAZED that the staff got a Californian to commit after visiting during the peak of our miserably cold Pennsylvanian winter? Penn State recruited her when she was in high school. Plus, Dan Gwitt has strong connections in Southern California. Plus plus, it's entirely possible that someone could say "Hey, it's cold in Pennsylvania in the winter, but at least everything isn't on fire all the time, like in California"

She's wearing #5 in the photo -- quite a heritage to that one! I really love her end line about coming to Penn State "Where champions are made."

Competition for playing time at outside hitter will be fierce this season. Now, the Nittany Lions will likely turn to setter and defensive specialist for another transfer or two.

I think the current roster is strong at DS. Need hitters. Don't know enough about Muisenga's abilities as a setter. Hate that we lost Oerther.

Muisenga had a similar high school ranking as Blossom (30 vs 28). I'm excited to see how she'll do. That said, we'll probably need another setter to transfer in for depth and for practices... though Menger was a setter in high school in case she's needed for that role.

"Kash is a tremendous athlete who is extremely motivated to be great," Schumacher-Cawley said in a press release. "She is extremely hardworking and a very nice person. I'm thrilled that she decided to join our Penn State family.”
