Here's a recap of tonight's sweep of Northwestern at Rec Hall featuring quotes from head coach Russ Rose as well as seniors Bryanna Weiskircher and Taylor Leath. Jonni Parker led the Nittany Lions with 11 kills and seven digs in the victory.

Can I just observe: getting rid of Keilor Chan has not worked to NU's advantage. Their new coach may be a heck of a guy, but last night's game, and this season's record, was unmatched during Chan's tenure. In the past, NU has been a real threat, even against much more successful PSU teams. 37 points against the 3rd ranked B1G team is an embarrassment, I would think. A lesson to folks/ADs wanting to change horses.

PSU Sports says that the team reached 22 wins in 40 straight seasons … If true then WoW

A lesson to folks/ADs wanting to change horses. I think it's a little early to judge Shane Davis' tenure. His first year he had very little time to recruit players and the quality was not that high as shown by the fact that only 1 Jr is actually playing much and that as a defensive specialist. Of the starting hitters, two are freshmen and two are sophomores. The starting libero is a walk-on freshman. The starting setter is a sophomore. And I think that this game was a bit of an outlier. They beat Iowa, Michigan once, Ohio State twice, (which is more that PSU did ). (Yes, I know that beating Ohio State isn't comparable as Ohio State is always up when playing PSU.) They are having the same problems that PSU is having with a young team only more so, which shouldn't be a surprise as they are a lot younger than PSU. Look at them in two years and see what they're doing. That will be a lot more indicative of how well Davis is doing.

BTW, I believe the OSU win against us was their last. 10 game L streak. Amazing. Guess they didn't give Carlston sufficient green cards this year...
