Karch was a guest on this episode. He talked about a number of things concerning the WNT, including the recent World Championship and VNL. Of particular interest to this forum are his comments about the setter position. He made it clear that Cheesehead Jesus is not quite up to Micha's level. He also seems enthusiastic about getting Poulter into the gym after she graduates from Illinois. Karch's interview begins at the 1:31:00 mark. The Net Live

Carlini and Hancock highlight the uncertainties of rating high school talent: Carlini the #1 PrepVolleyball Senior Ace in her class, and Hancock something like #41 Senior Ace in her class. Both great college setters.

Glad to see Karch confirm what every Penn State fan knows. Micha is better than Lauren, The only time Wisconsin beat Penn State was Carlini' last year and guess who was not there.

To their credit, Micha and Lauren appear to get along on the NT and root for each other, contrary to what one might think.

Just finished watching the show. Lots of interesting information and perspectives. The Olympic Qualification procedure sounds pretty complicated this time.

It disappoints me that PSU fans can be so unkind to Carlini. She is a fine athlete and never did anything other than being a strong competitor to arouse such continued unpleasant remarks.

I can't believe how much information he was spewing off the top of his head. Pretty impressive memory. Sometimes I forget what I ate yesterday.

It disappoints me that PSU fans can be so unkind to Carlini. She is a fine athlete and never did anything other than being a strong competitor to arouse such continued unpleasant remarks. I agree. Regardless of things Carlini may have said/done (and I definitely don't want to get into a replay of those), she was a kid -- 17 to 22 range. Kids make mistakes (or are perceived to have made mistakes). I firmly believe (no way of proving this) that if Carlini had played for Penn State, and Hancock had played for another school (Wisconsin or whomever), with all else being equal, we would have loved Carlini. I met someone once -- totally forget where, but at a regional or other NCAA tournament match -- who knew Carlini and the Carlini family. Really liked her and the family, and was similarly flummoxed by the hostility towards her from fans of other schools. Again, perhaps she didn't comport herself the way we might think appropriate, but she was a kid. And a fierce competitor. I wish we, as a fanbase, would let it go. But I suspect we won't.

Yes, she did and said a lot of inappropriate things when she was a young adult, not a kid. Her behavior has not changed with age. I can assure you that she is still arrogant, obnoxious and entitled.
