We didn’t see much of Amanda Phegley this season, so I can’t tell what her future contributions will be. But she did get to play last night, which was nice. And, I’m thinking that given the new Red Shirt rules she will have 4 more years of eligibility. She appeared in only four games? She appeared in 10 matches, playing in a total of 14 sets. But I don't know what the redshirt rules are for women's volleyball. The rule you're alluding to is for football. |

She appeared in only four games? Amanda makes me think of Heidi Thelen's situation last year. She'll have to move OH to benefit the team and for playing time. Is she versatile enough to make that adjustment? She has been coming in primarily as RS hitter so I would say she is already ahead of schedule than Heidi in the transition from MB to RS. |

Not a bad thought, I had similar thoughts earlier in the season. Although, considering how much Gray and Hord have been nursing minor injuries this year, I would say that she will be needed more often than not in her normal position (much like Gorrell has been doing this year).

I scoured the NCAA site for info on this several years ago. Although the rules are written for football, I think they pretty much follow for WVB. Could be wrong, but don't know how to prove it one way or another. I'm guessing if Gray is in sweats tonight, Phlegley loses her red shirt.
