I've been thinking, the coaching would be able to make it work if they flip Parker to the left side and play Clark at Opp (assuming Clark cannot pass that well).
So I am not sure that Parker has to switch to OH in order to fill the role. Coach had Parker in for 6 rotations anyway, but he did not ask her to receive/pass. Next year, he could use her the same way but not hide her behind on receptions. Parker, like Megan Courtney, is a smart attacker. They had her swing from 5 zones this season, and she varied her shots with speed, spin, tips, and sometimes power. However unlike Megan, so far, Parker has not yet shown the passing skills. I don't have as good a memory for Courtney's early years. I remember she was OH2/behind McClendon. I remember her shanking a fair number of attacks and/or serves in her time, but I suspect that' just how it goes in the back row. Is good enough that Karch has moved her to L. But even someone that good is not perfect. What I've seen so far from Parker does not have me worried, at least.

bob2061 Where do you get info and exposure to these players talents that you establish the lineup and location?? Can I have an opinion please? Blossum could play in a 6-2 but we really need some size at the net next year. Did you see how Stanford dominates with their height. BTW Amanda plays RS very well but needed some time to get up to college speed. Coach trains his players to play all positions in the front row to make sure we are ready when out of system.

Watched a bit of the HS exhibition match from MN tonight. Lauren Clark go on quite a service run including an ace; made a really tough dig; but didn't do so well at OH/pin. Not sure if any other PSU recruits were involved. Lauren was the only Penn State recruit in that match. It's a fun event for the players and for fans. It's not necessarily a great indicator of how a player may perform at the college level or the role they may play.

They are not experts, And if they were I doubt they would be writing here. So it is somewhat like the fantasy leagues for football. And like the axiom, Opinions are like bellybuttons everyone has one, let everyone voice there own.

So true, I think we spend too much time on here trying to tear down another person's opinion rather than just voicing our own.

She also had 237 digs for 1.98 digs per set. Parker had lots of digs this year, but was mostly kept off serve receive. Not sure whether Parker or Cathey will be used in the OH2 role next year. But there is a long history of letting our players grow into that job.

Will PSU be ready for Stanford's visit early next season? Yes. Will Penn State win? Different question. Don't know.

I have seen almost every match and watched the players growing their skills. I believe good things will be happening.
