One hell of a set. Stanford very fortunate. True, but Stanford also very good. I keep thinking back to what Talking Head said: Stanford has stretches of sloppy play -- but they still win those games and those matches. And Plummer hit .112 in the first set. That will come up (and has).

Neb up 19-16. 1st set loss not seeming to bother them.

Neb up 19-16. 1st set loss not seeming to bother them. Almost makes Stanford's win look like good fortune.

Tied 1-1. Neb wins 25-22. Karch called the net violation a micro net violation Cook almost called a non-existent time out which, I think, would have cost Neb a point.

I'd say that so far, Nebraska has shown more grit. Stanford is playing like they expect to win. Nebraska is playing like they believe they have a chance if they play hard.

Neb really has played well in the play-offs. Sun pretty much carried them in the 4th set (or was it the 5th?) of the semi-final. Jazz Sweet was playing terrible in the season and now is around .300.

I think Stanford is playing tentatively -- not to lose (which I think is different from playing like they expect to win). Then again, what the heck do I know, and who cares One other thing -- I hate (really strongly dislike) the color commentary. Holly says "Nebraska really coming alive after the first set that they lost." OK, fair to say they played better in second set than first set, but losing 28-26 in set 1 they were hardly dead or asleep.

And then again, what does it say when we're commenting on Holly's homilies?

Stanford looks to be at a different level, making Cook burn a TO

Stanford always seems to have another gear. So much talent on that team. Course, Neb isn't chopped liver.
