Well, I'm going to go with my prediction contest pick: Stanford.
I wish none of these teams win, but someone must.
Stanford has too many weapons this year, and I know Nebraska is good defensively.
I feel like Stanford will kick it into overdrive and not look back.
The key in this match will be watching the best offensive team vs the best defensive.
I think this sport, much like basketball, favors offense rather than defense.
So the old adage about defense winning championships, IMO, doesn't hold true in VB.

11-9 Nebraska. Stanford starting against Neb like they did against PSU. Neb defense has been fabulous.

If Stanford hadn't won this set, it would have been a terrible blow psychologically. They had 6 set points and Neb none.

One hell of a set. Stanford very fortunate. True, but Stanford also very good. I keep thinking back to what Talking Head said: Stanford has stretches of sloppy play -- but they still win those games and those matches. |
