I was smitten with tOSU's coach. What a tool! His comments leading into the match almost had me believing that wrestling for the Buckeyes was tantamount to embarking on a religious quest. His behavior during the match was reminiscent of Woody Hayes vs Clemson.
It's nice when opponents are easy to hate. (I wish rampageripster cared about wrestling)
The team did a great job last night. A well-deserved win.

Congrats to the Wrestling team, ending their dual-meet schedule with a 55-0 defeat of Buffalo. The 55-0 score is a new record victory margin, surpassing a 1983 54-0 mark set against Millersville (a DII team). Of PSU's seven pins, Bo Nickal's stands out in that his took all of 11 seconds.

As Nyline pointed out on one of the site's Volleyball threads, the B1G wrestling championships are this weekend from East Lansing, Michigan. There's coverage for Saturday's preliminaries on BTN2GO and I believe Sunday's finals will be on the BTN network.

Jason Nolf just pinned his first opponent in about a minute-and-a-half. He had a big brace, but looked just fine.

I hope he gets better and stays healthy the rest of the season. Just a little trivia - Jason Nolf is dating PSU women's soccer team star Maddie Elliston. Keep us posted on the scores!

Thanks for the posts.
ESPN's coverage has been pretty good. I'm glad they don't have broadcast rights to the Men's Basketball Tournament.
PSU's Fab Five have returned to the finals. I hope they repeat.
My two take-aways from the B1G Championships and ESPN's coverage: The B1G's coverage was obsequiously pro-Ohio State, the B1G commentator working with ESPN has brought his bias with him, and Ohio State's coach is a truly odious individual.
Oops, that's three!

Bashing Tom Ryan (Ohio State Coach) is popular on the PSU wrestling boards. He tends to be overtly passionate about his team. But, the Ohio State wrestlers virtually always display a high degree of sportsmanship whether they win or lose. It seems like we always want to demonize our opposition in sports, politics, or life in general. The wrestlers at the NCAA tournament have all sacrificed greatly to get there and all deserve our admiration.
Having said that --- Go Nittany Lions! It is going to be close for the team title!

I agree. From what I've seen from the OSU wrestlers, they seem to be exemplary individuals. And no question that practitioners of the most strenuous of all sports deserve our respect. But I guess I'm not alone in my feelings about OSU's coach. The B1G Championship coverage was upsetting because it honored the Cliff Kean outstanding wrestler--OSU's HWT Kyle Snyder, but failed to mention that Zain Retherford was the B1G's choice as outstanding wrestler. (And I think Kyle Snyder is outstanding and a great human being)
