PSU vs UCLA tied at 1 at the half.
Ashley Sanchez scored for UCLA in the 29th minute on a bad giveaway in our defensive third. Sanchez chipped out keeper.
Emily Ogle scored a minute later on a penalty kick for PSU after Kristin Schnurr was knocked over in the box.

Delaney Sheehan scored for UCLA in the 70th minute on an odd goal (shot/cross). Keeper catches it and linesman called the ball completely over the line. Not sure about that one.
FT: UCLA 2 - PSU 1

I attended this match-my first visit to Jeffrey Field, which is a very nice facility for college soccer. We got a surprise performance by the Blue Band at half time-part of the 25 years of Penn State Women's Soccer celebration.
UCLA was in general bigger and taller than we, and they won almost all of the aerial battles. UCLA played us tight and very physically (earning 4 yellow cards in the process). We were unable to advance up the middle and played many balls back to our keeper, who then struggled to find open outlets. UCLA was able to press us all over the field, which strained our ball movement, leading to insufficient possession. After UCLA scored the second goal, we did find a little space and generated some chances with quick ball movement, but even then we could only generate chances from outside of the box.
This was an excellent early test for our team, who will no doubt learn a great deal from the match. I retain high hopes for a successful season.

Thanks Millennium for keeping track. Maybe JMU having a bit of a rebuilding year as they are 1-4. Still a road win after a tough loss is good news.
Wake Forrest on Sunday.

The 2 BTN StudentU announcers for the PSU match are excellent. They really know the game and the players for each team.
