This will be a challenging weekend for the team. Good to see them compete against “new” preseason opponents. Christy Johnson-Lynch usually has her teams ready to compete. Haven’t watched much LSU the last few years. Coach Rose will have our team ready. Can’t wait!!

According to the ISU website, this year is the first year of a three year triangular tourney with ISU and LSU. So we get both teams at Rec Hall next year, and then go to LSU to complete the triangle. Clearly the tournament organizer has a great deal of patience ....

Can't say IS looked terribly strong against SDSt. last weekend. In set one lost 5 set points before closing it at 19 IIRC. Players blamed 'the different look than [they] are used to.' Wonder if they'll rise to the occasion tonight?

I think we are better than Iowa State, but they are definitely a step up from the three teams last weekend. It should be a pretty good crowd -- Hilton Coliseum holds 14,000+ for basketball -- maybe between 5,000 - 8,000, one of the event staff speculated. But as of 7:15 ET, not looking like it will break 5,000.

As an aside, from 2014 to 2016 Iowa State had a 5-10 setter from State College, Suzanne Horner. Started over 50 matches for the Cyclones.
