Can anyone access the replay of this match on the "Cyclones" website?? I think they keep their videos very buttoned down. Unlike a number of schools, which allow you to "share" at least their highlight videos through a link or embed code, Iowa is a closed-system. Sadly, Penn State is going in the same direction. |

Bureaucracies love control. I think it's more about revenue -- if they let someone post the video after the match, there's something of a disincentive (however small it might be) to pay for the video stream on game day. On the other hand -- and personally, I think this is far more important -- for a sport that is still gaining popularity, like women's volleball, exposure is key. I think they are shortchanging their programs on exposure for what is probably a negligible revenue gain. |

I see that a bureaucracy is in charge which justifies its decisions as being revenue-driven. I believe you're correct in pointing out that this is a short-sighted decision that shortchanges their program's potential for broader exposure. So, it's about revenue, but there's also a control aspect to the decision. No matter. |
