I think the TV announcing team is excellent. To clarify, I was referring to the play by play announcer from Friday.

Well, at least PSU can say it only lost to undefeated teams who suffered their first defeat following their contests with PSU.

I'm glad the team had the grit and tenacity to pull out this win against a very good Pitt team.
I think the players weren't ready for the first match and that the coaches did a poor job of game planning for that first match on Friday.

At first press conference, Coach said that this team would have to win with Will instead of Skill. This match seemingly demonstrated what he meant. Congrats to Emily for her expanded role. She did very well. Also saw lots of different things in this match (eg: Tori Gorrell digging in the back row). The staff is not afraid to make changes when they are needed.

Watched Emily Sciorra play in HS. What struck me was many of our DS's have been former setters or even hitters. Sciorra was an L from the start and probably the best one I ever saw play in HS. Her digs yesterday were remarkable. The ice in her veins as she serves, as well. Same can be said of Hampton and Holcomb. Love our back court.
BTW, I noted as did Elliot at the 6th point in set 2 (IIRC), Gorrell got an amazing dig or ricochet, covering the back right really well. Wow. Last year we saw her serve. Keeps showing skills I didn't know she had.

I have mentioned before that I admire what Tori has done for the program.
That said, in addition to getting that dig, I think Tori shanked a serve receive (as did several others), and Gabi did quite a lot of running.
It seemed like Sciorra replaced Holcomb as the defensive sub for Torri, and later Lauren, and that Holcomb came in to give Jonni a break. Both Sciorra and Holcomb have (overall) passed well in serve receive, but some others have had more trouble.

I just noticed the friday night attendance was 3478 for the Pitt game, But the friday night game the previous week for the Stanford game was 5178, Just curious you would think the attendance for the Pitt game would have been the same or more, After all the game on sunday in Pittsburgh was 5195
