This team does not quit. Coach Rose doesn't believe in silver linings, but the team again showed it can play with grit and determination. I am disappointed by the result, but I am encouraged by much of what I saw.

Almost a 3 hour match. Haven't seen a match this long in a while. A lot of long rallies. Two good defensive teams.

PSU would be very, very good if they had a terminal OH. No doubt in my mind. They have all the pieces to be a great team with the exception of a above average pin.

I can't think of very many teams that are down by 3 in the fifth and have come back, much less 5. Another OH and they would be hard to beat. |

And they're doing it with their defense this year. Look at the hitting percentages for the match. Nebraska should not have struggled as much as they did.

PSU 11-9 NEB getting such good sets off of oos or bad receives Good hitters can make so so sets look better. |

Well, so far Gorrell has some kills, Cathey not so much. I think Clark can terminate just a little better than Cather, but Cathey is the better defender and that's why she's in versus Clark
Allyson looks to hit a heavier ball. I think Allyson is more comfortable on the right than on the left. |

Even tho we have 8 blocks, we aren't getting nearly as many soft blocks as NEB is. I cannot figure it out. How can the Huskers get a soft block on almost everything?

Very even match and I would have never guessed that leading to this match. There is a light at end of tunnel for this season! Gotta agree with you. Pretty much my thought also. I was pretty sure that Nebraska would win and I thought it would be in 4 not 5. Obviously, being pretty sure Nebraska would win meant I didn't think it would be 15-13 Neb in the 5th. Considering how many soft blocks NEB got, and how terminal so many of their hitters were, (near the end they had 4 hitters with 12, 14, 14 and 19 kills), it almost seems that PSU did it with smoke and mirrors. That may be so, but PSU really did it with smoke, mirrors and Parker. |
