I'm guessing that having 3 fifth-year starter players last year versus one this year (two, if you include Keeton) is mostly what that comment was about. Not so certain. I felt Coach was referencing the need to make more than the usual number of adjustments to make best use of different players' strengths. Good point. I think you're more on target. But I think it's both.

But I think it's both. I do recall Coach saying that he did not need to instruct Bryanna too much because she understood what was needed.

Announcer mentioned today Gabby's 'soft hands.' I expect she has played and therefore knows what she is talking about. She couldn't say enough about Gabby's talents...her ability to set it on a dime and do it right quick, esp. to Hord and to OH. But thought she's height-challenged (not height challenged IMO if you have a decent vertical and good blocking skills). Sounds to me like Gabby may be the right setter at the right time for this mix of players.
