Not to discount Kaitlyn's nite. 12-1-21 ONLY hit .429 Looking at the hitting percentages, maybe Serena and Jonni should change positions as the middles usually get the highest hitting percentage.

I am amazed at Gabby Blossom's distribution; she has been excellent the last couple matches.
This team is so much much better with her leading the offense.

Agreed. It fun to see her push her limits. Makes you wonder how good last year could have been, (and with that, this year), if RR had given the reins to Gabby from the get go. We'll never know. I'm sure RR felt that the best result would come with Bryanna. I sure would have loved to see a setter, (last year), that improved. IMHO, I didn't see much improvement from Bryanna in her stay at PSU. Some, but not a whole lot. I wonder how much of Tori's improvement recently can be attributable to Gabby's improvement? I'm not a good enough observer to say, one way or the other.

Oh my-how quickly we forget. Coach always plays to win and uses the players he feels will give us the best shot to do so. I remember Gabby getting into several matches and struggling (the Indiana match notwithstanding). Tori's improvement is likely due to continued practice at a new position. And not to be critical of anyone, but it feels like last year's group (with many of the same players) blocked a lot more consistently than this year. Finally, and not attributing this to Gabby, but Coach did say that this year's team is more challenging to coach.
We have an excellent group of Sophomores-Gabby especially, who are improving as a group. She helps the hitters and as they get better at hitting, they make her look better too.

Gabby is doing a great job. But, Bryanna was often underrated as a setter and was more of a presence at the net.

. . . . Finally, . . . Coach did say that this year's team is more challenging to coach. We have an excellent group of Sophomores-Gabby especially, who are improving as a group. I'm guessing that having 3 fifth-year starter players last year versus one this year (two, if you include Keeton) is mostly what that comment was about.

I felt Coach was referencing the need to make more than the usual number of adjustments to make best use of different players' strengths.
