Micha did well. She was able to get a bit more from the middles than Poulter, though there remains much room for improvement there. Micha did not really get her serve going, but hopefully as the starter, she can get into a rhythm and the serve will be an ace in the hole for the team in the knockout rounds.
Haleigh dominated on the block which was a key aspect to the victory.
Really tough to lose two starters, especially when one of them is the setter and the other the leading scorer. USA has well prepared substitutes to fill what would be gaping wholes for most other teams.

Technicallnot sure it’s correct to say Thompson is a starter. Karch was saying he had held her back so she wouldn’t be scouted.

Volleyballmag.com reviewed the prepvolleyball.com senior ace write-ups for the Olympic team. Here is the quote about Hancock. They explain in the article why she didn't matriculate at Tulsa University. 41. Micha Hancock, 5-10 S/RS, Memorial (Edmond OK), Oklahoma Peak Performance — Tulsa A complete player, few, if any, are as skilled as Hancock. The left-hander understands the game well and can make all the sets. She has thunder in her left arm, which she uses from the right pin, in the back row or behind the service line, where she can deliver a top spin or jump float to any area of the court. She is a great passer with unmatched grit and tenacity and a flat out winner. When the game’s on the line, she’ll make the necessary play no matter where she is on the court. Few players can control a match like she does. Hancock, who won an Oklahoma 6A title a year ago and took home Gatorade Player of the Year honors, will stay in-state to set and hit right side for Tulsa. She is a sure-fire four year starter for the Golden Hurricanes. volleyballmag.com/usa-women-volleyball-memories-080321/I'm looking forward to watching her lead the team to a victory tonight at 9:00 pm. You Eastcoasters can watch her starting at midnight.

Poll: How many would like to hear announcers discuss the particulars of the match rather than: 1) Jordan Larson's wedding date 2) Jordan Larson's officiator 3) Karch's career 4) Paul's Olympic career and presence at a match where a US player was injured 5) The men's draw
I feel like I'm at a terrific movie in a theatre surrounded by people who keep talking...about the dinner they just ate.
Oh, BTW, who caught Kevin Barnett going on and on about mental health during the Argentina match (re:gymnastics...IIRC we were trying to follow WVB), after he called the Argentina play 'schizophrenic?
