Very true statement. One generation passes the PSU winning tradition on to the next. Courtney and Whitney were talking about that in an interview at the beginning of the season. You can see the freshmen catching that fever by this portion of the season. It seems Holcomb began the season very timid, nowadays she's taking more initiative in her play. I was very harsh on Holcomb earlier but now I would like to retract everything I said. She is becoming a very solid libero and PSU is now rolling. I was impressed with Holcomb from the very beginning. She came in with a very good base of passing and digging skills, and she plays fearlessly and doesn't get intimidated or down. That position is like a football linebacker, it take 2-3 years to really learn it, so for a true freshman to come in and win the job and play as well as she has -- that is really a comment on how talented she is and how hard she works. She and Weiskircher have come in with good tools and worked hard and gotten better every week. Are they all-Big Ten/All-American caliber players -- not yet, but if they keep working like this, they will get there I think. You can see how much they both enjoy it and how competitive they are. The back row play has improved so much. They're still a long way from being tournament ready but the improvement curve is steep. When Holcomb, Pierce and Weiskircher are the back row it is really hard to get a ball to the floor on Penn State's side.

Not sure if this is mentioned elsewhere, but B. Wisesetter (; )) earned BIG honors this week following the double take-down of OSU. Great job, B.!

although last year the doors definitely were not open to allow admittance to the Xfinity Center, i got this from UMD:
The VB game doors will open exactly 1 hour before the game. We would love for you to come and enjoy the Xfinity Center before the game if you wish. There is a great sports wall of fame you can see here. Ian L. AIan Lutz New Business Sales Consultant Fan Relationship Management Center | University of Maryland P: 301.405.8408 | E: ilutz@umd.edu
