Haven't worked up the courage to watch the match yet. But, the box score shows something concerning. Fitzpatrick, Bilinovic, Starck, and Menger appeared in all four sets. Pritchard, Kudryashova, Rollins, and Kuerschen did not. Even granting the probability that Eriika is injured, it seems a little late in the season to not have a settled lineup. It will be interesting to see if the lineup returns to normal against Northwestern.
Maybe tomorrow I'll try watching the match to see what the story was!

Caught a glimpse of Pritchard standing with the team in her jersey. Appeared 'available', but it was just a quick glimpse.

I think that RR was trying Anjelina, AC & Clark to try to get someone who could get a kill. Virtually nobody was able to get the ball to the floor. Anjelina did a bit when she was first in but NEB adjusted to her. RR also tried the substution in for Gabby with Jonni setting to try to get some more blocking. There were periods of time where PSU was blocking NEB, but the PSU blocking was never consistent. I'm without clue as to what RR will do against NW. Our middles weren't that effective because the PSU serve receive and passing wasn't very good. Anjelina started off well but was being blocked pretty effectively in the 4th set; probably because Gabby was going to her a lot as the other hitters weren't doing well. AC had no kills on 11 attempts with 1 error. That's not going produce a win. I think the stats are screwed up (from Nebraska), cuz they show Adanna & Nasta having no attempts which I'm pretty sure is wrong. WestEnder pointed out what I suspected, that the stats for the 1st set and 2nd set were way off. The play-by-play on the Nebraska site show only about 6 plays for the 1st set. The 2nd set shows the score, but that's about all; no server, no errors attributed to anyone, no kill, aces, anything. Only way to get stats for the 1st & 2nd set, from what I can see, is to watch the game & do it yourself. That would take a true masochist

BTW, the stats I'm seeing are posted on the NE site, not PSU. PSU has no live stats or box score showing.
The stats don't show any PSU player being in 4 sets. Also shows NE having 3 total assists.
Something is very messed up and I'm assuming they're trying to sort it all out. Yikes. Also show PSU w/total SE of 3; Hampton had at least 3 all by herself.

If I was you, I wouldn't. Work up the courage that is. Unfortunately, I can't unsee this match.

Maybe that's a good thing; that the stats are screwed up that is. I think we would all be better off not seeing them I should probably stop posting as I'm rather negative and depressed now. Oh well. Fortunately, it's only a game. I do firmly believe that this team will continue to get better. Just didnt' happen tonite. I just wish that we could play NEB some night when they were off. Never seems to happen against PSU, at least in the last 10 years or so. I do remember one time when Nebraska was off when one of the twins was sat down as she was being disruptive or something. Maybe we could arrange a trade with Iowa or Indiana an get a bad Nebraska performance from them in a trade for one of our good Nebraska performances.

Well I went out on a limb, and it broke, so sorry for the ladies, but the season is long and the only thing that matters is who is standing at the end

OK. So I watched the match and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Nebraska's defense was phenomenal. They passed extremely well and dug just about everything that was reachable. Anjelina Starck played very well both in the front row and back. PSU played hard, but simply could not match the passing/digging skills of the Huskers. I am still interested in who will be in the starting lineup for the next match. My bet is that it will be the same as for the Nebraska match with the possible exception that Erika Pritchard might be back. Personally, I would love to see Anjelina get a start to see if she continues to be an effective six-rotation player.
The box score linked from both Gopsu and Nebraska now appears to be correct. But neither site has access to a play-by-play account of the match. I rely on that play-by-play to maintain rotation info. So..... guess I'll get to watch the match one more time. .

Except for a serve by Menger and a couple other hits including a setter dump or two, it looked to me like many of our attacks and serves were going right to the NE players who didn't have to move an inch. As if they knew exactly what to expect from us. And when we did make them scramble (there are a lot of points where more than 1 NE player was down on the floor at the same time), they seemed to easily reenter their system.
I read some grousing about our passing, but I will say that I saw Hampton take a ton of very heavy balls and pass them (very high) right to Blossom. Don't know if there's a way to measure it, but it seems like the ferocity of the swings was higher than any I've seen in a while.

Boy, I could only find the stats by the link from the schedule. Weren't linked to the gopsusports story for me, or on the stat page.
Here's something interesting: Blocks. 9 NE 9 PSU. Of all the 9 PSU players recording blocks, only Hord with 3 and Holland with 4 had more than 1.
Also, PSU recorded fewer Attack Errors than NE (18 v 24) and an equal number of SEs, 9.
The stat sheet that is available shows a category of Receptions, and Bilinovic has the highest number, 28. Had 2 REs but, her % was high. Also had an assist and 7 digs and got in 9 serves. As I watched I was heartened by what she was bringing.

So..... guess I'll get to watch the match one more time. . The play-by-play was there last night, but as I had mentioned, set 1 & 2 were not right. Guess that's why it was pulled. It's interesting. If NEB had played that well in 3/4 of their other matches, they would be ranked in the top 4. Just goes to show what some incentive will do. Also, a RR quote tells why he changed things around. " I thought that the fact that I had to take two or three starters out because they weren’t ready to play and weren’t playing at a high enough level is a reflection of some of the things that I see in practice. "
