Purdue took 2 sets off Nebraska, I doubt PSU will be much of a match for them. PSU looks like the 4th best team in the B1G this year. It is what it is. I dunno. Purdue looked pretty helpless in the loss to Indiana and collapsed against Northwestern. I think Penn State matches up poorly with Nebraska because of how their defense is laid out and their varied offense confused the blockers. Purdue has good floor defense but not blocking. They rely on Chicoine and Hudson and I think Penn State blocking can help contain them. I don’t think Purdue taking Nebraska to 5 automatically means they’re much better than PSU. I watched most Nebraska matches this season and this was one of their better matches in conference. Purdue can beat Penn State but I haven’t seen a game from Purdue that unequivocally shows that PSU is inferior. Currently watching the Purdue at Ohio State game with Purdue 2-1 up but Ohio nudging ahead 12-8 in the 4th . From what I'm seeing of Purdue, I don't see anything other than a Penn State win next weekend. Forget last night, Nebraska were superb and on that form they will win the championship, and probably next year as well since they have no seniors. (Purdue have just scraped a 28-26 4th set win, to take the match 3-1, but I'm still 100% certain the Lions will tame them at Rec Hall)

Yikes.

Nebraska showing grit. PSU getting outplayed at all positions. PSU is just outgunned. Out defensed ...

If your block just keys on Jess. PSU is left out to dry Right. But all our attackers got blocked or touched. NEB by far the best defense I have seen this season.

I agree. But pretty good doesn’t get you to final fours or win championships. What I am saying is I am sure they didn’t get on the plane to Nebraska last night and say .. if we just stay close. We will be happy. I bet this is the kind of conversation fans of other teams used to have when PSU was sweeping all opponents. PSU brought in two All Americans and two other accomplished grads and NEB still has more than we. So although losing is not the goal, getting better and playing well are valid secondary aims. I don't think this is a final 4 team. But I do hope that we will see competitive well played matches against the best teams. That leads to better recruits and transfer talent.

One or two points here. I hope Mac tries to set the middles more. While I understand that Jess is most often the best option, I agree with the broad casters-the current attack is too left sided.
NEB has been excellent year after year. That program recruits very well and then coaches the talent well. NEB Libero looked like the best player on the floor yesterday. Hopefully bringing in two international quality players will give PSU something around which to build.
PSU will keep improving. But so will everyone else.

Wisconsin right. Purdue I don't know. I think PSU has a chance against them. We'll see. Purdue took 2 sets off Nebraska, I doubt PSU will be much of a match for them. PSU looks like the 4th best team in the B1G this year. It is what it is. Maybe. Purdue has a fairly young team and has been up and down. Nebraska also has been up and down. I don't take sets taken off of Nebaska this year as highly as I have in prior years. Nebraska came within 3-4 pts of losing the first 2 sets to Indiana.
