PSU take set 4 by a score of 25-14. Going to 5 sets!!! I love it.
Hitting in set 4: PSU .294 MN .057
EDIT: Gotta keep spreading the ball around, I think that made a huge difference. Way too many sets were going to Lee in 2nd and 3rd and blockers started camping out on her.

This won't be easy; gotta serve tough yet avoid the service errors. Weiskircher stays in as setter.

Tied 5 all in the 5th. Hopefully home court advantage can get us this win!

PSU now up 8-6 at the switch in set 5. Whatever happens from here on out, I'm satisfied with how our team played this match. Lots of good stuff to look forward to the rest of the season. Also, lots of positives to build on.

Any thoughts about bad ref calls going against MN (according to some VT posters)?

Guess what folks? This team can play better in a few areas.
This is what good coaching and preparation can do.

And PSU win it in 5 sets 15-10.
Hitting in the 5th set: PSU: .588 MN: .375
Match hitting %: PSU .308 (we stayed on par with season average) MN .237
Frantti was a liability early, but started coming alive late in the match. Lee is becoming what Bricio was to USC and Santana was to MN - the go-to hitter.
Washington with 14 kills on 20 swings, 0 errors, hitting .700 Lee with 30 kills, 9 errors, 63 swings, hitting .333
Very nice 1-2 punch right there. If Frantti, Gorrell and Thelen can stay consistent, watch out!

Here is PSU chance to revenge last year lost as #1 and to make a statement! Hey, sorry to quote myself, but good win for PSU, good for the girls and I think they now know they have what it takes care of business!

Great match. So proud of this team. So proud. Ironically, with the stupendous stats by Simone (love you, Simone!) this win was all team, IMHO.

I can. With the way they've been playing lately, I could've envisioned this. However, if you would have told me they wouldn't show up to the match until halfway through set 1, then were down 7-2 in set 4, I would have said it was a loss. It's stunning they came back in both of those sets. So, basically, yes. Could've envisioned this, but definitely not in that way. What an exciting match.

That first set, after being down 13-4...
That's all I have to say to close it out for tonight.
