PrepVolleyball.com (a pay site, but well worth it IMHO) finishes posting its Senior Aces countdown today, with #s 10 to 1. I'll include the PSU recruits (I think it will be Serena Gray and Kaitlyn Hord) in a new reply to this thread. Probably around 6:30 p.m. To repeat, please don't post the lists on this site. PrepVolleyball's position is that we can post on DigNittany the names and ranks of Penn State recruits, but not the narratives, and we should not post anything for other schools beyond that the school's recruits have been named, e.g. #20, #14 and #2, without naming the specific players. I want us to respect the rights of PrepVolleyball.com. One other thing: though it's fun to debate whether Player A is ranked too low, or ranked too high, at the end of the day, the talent of each player exists independent of their PrepVolleyball.com ranking. Some will develop beyond their ranking "ceiling" and others won't reach that "ceiling." What I like about the Senior Aces is that it generates discussion about volleyball. as an fyi, here's a link to background on Penn State's 2018 class: PSU 2018 Verbal CommitsAnyway, let's see what happens and we'll undoubtedly have alot to talk about soon.

Well then, b4 the lists come out we can expect the following 5 players to be in the top 50 in randomn order:
Gabby Blossum S Serena Gray MB Jenna Hampton L Kaitlyn Hord MB Amanda Phegley MB
I don't expect any of these players to be red-shirted as we reload for our next run. As many know several teams run a 3 MB offense, so one may be in our future. I am curious in any MBs could be converted to RS and Nia Reed moved to LS. This is where coaches really earn their pay.

I saw an article recently about a number of top players sitting out their senior year...not sure i understood the rationale...but I'm assuming it doesn't affect any PSUers ; curious about what early-season lists like this will do with them.

Actually,I believe Cami May didn't play for her high school her senior year, choosing instead to train with her club. She them enrolled early at Penn State.

No Penn State players in 91 to 100 bracket. I would hope not since these players were not highly sought after by top college coaches. Of course this doesn't preclude them from being a diamond in the rough for smaller colleges.

Maybe Jonni Parker can join the list? I think Parker will make the list. Parker reminds me a lot of Megan Courtney since she is another Ohio D-3 standout who can play setter as well as pin hitter. The coaches are hoping they have caught lightning in a bottle again.

Penn State 6-4 MB recruit Amanda Phegley comes in at #56. Click Here for the Class of 2018 page on DigNittanyVolleyball, for more on Amanda.
