Can we put together a list of next year's roster with their PrepVB ranks? I know it's early for this discussion, but next year's roster will only have 3 OH's and like 5 MB's. Yikes!! Sure, I'll work on that (but probably not until next week, so if anyone can do it sooner, have at it ). I do think the position listings for some of next year's incoming freshmen may not reflect where they will play next season. My guess (and this is totally a guess) is that at least one of the three middles will either be at RS or at OH. Plus Gorrell might move permanently to RS -- again, just a guess. And Coach Rose has said that Cami May can play all three positions up front. So we'll see. I am pretty sure they won't stick with five middles. Jonni Parker and Brianna will be your setters and Kendall and Jenna Hampton will cover the back row. I think we are pretty well set with Jonni and Tori Gorell covering the RS position. Cami will be groomed to continue playing the entire front row. The two new middles will be young but highly talented. Whenever you have players that are flexible you have tremendous freedom to experiment with various lineups and offensive schemes. We will be ok next season but it will be a work in progress.

We got the #3 and #5 spots according to VolleyTalk.
I don't know who fills in each spot. I'll let Nyline add the details.
Definitely the #1 recruiting class now for 2018.

Kaitlyn Hord #3; Serena Gray #5. Gray has battled injuries, which she has put behind her, as far as I know. One thing this class says to the doubters is, have patience. Some people were writing Coach Rose off as a recruiter after 2015 and 2016 and 2017. I think those people were wrong generally, and certainly in terms of how 2018 has played out.

Washington = accomplished. Now for the OH's.

Nice publicity to have the number 1 recruiting class but over the last few years we have seen number 1 classes disappoint when they hit the court in their first year.

Nice publicity to have the number 1 recruiting class but over the last few years we have seen number 1 classes disappoint when they hit the court in their first year. Still, I think we'd all rather be in the position of having a great class, with the possibility -- even likelihood -- of growing pains, than in the position of no good recruits coming in, and having to hope for miracle transfers.

I think coach Rose should consider convering one or two of the MBs to OH. I know it'll not be an easy task, but others have done it successfully. Some of them are very athletic, so I hope one or two would be wiiling to learn the position and take up the challenge

Well, look what he did w/Hancock!
And look at all the setters and hitters we've brought on that have to be relegated to the back row...Megan Shiflett, Holehouse, etc. Just because they played something in HS can be irrelevant when they get here.
In addiiton, I've got to say that some HS coaches are absolutely unschooled in how to use players...oh, you're tall, so you'll play MB, instead of looking at the talents of the player.

Brooklynn Hill, Penn State libero/DS recruit, made "The 150" (the next 150 after the 100 Senior Aces).

These 3 are on the "Under Armor" Watch List. Could we see something like we had a few years ago and have all three of these? I think in 2009 Under Armor Match we had 6 players. So many that one of them had to play on the other side! Gabby Blossom St. Joseph's Academy MO S 5'10 Penn State Jonni Parker Miami East High School OH S/RS 6'1 Penn State Kaitlyn Hord Henry Clay High School KY MB 6'4 Penn State
