I think I said somewhere (Preseason RPI Rankings and projected records thread) "Don't be surprised if we win both matches against Stanford"! I am happy my predictions came true!! On to Happy Valley!!

Imagine how great it will feel to the team to play some home games?
Three weeks of character building should pay off in the B1G season.

And two tough 5 set wins? This isn't your 2016 Nittany Lions!

Great match!! Went just the way I wanted after losing Set 1... lost Set 3 (close), killed 'em in Set 4 (Great confidence boost) to win a mostly tight Set 5. Even Russ has to give PSU credit after beating a "full" (Lutz on floor) Stanford squad. Coach Rose better give them credit. You make sure he does Nyline. After I solve all world conflicts and political dissension.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if this week's projected RPI will still project PSU with having eight losses? I guess the B1G is getting tougher every week.

Well we moved from 27th to 8th in the RKPI last week after beating Stanford. I would think we will move up even more from this weekends wins. They have to start taking off the projected losses after we win a projected loss match. Not sure exactly how they calculate their projections or exactly where they project those losses from. Real RPI comes out beginning of Oct.

That would guarantee PSU four straight cupcakes, right?

We had 20 Team blocks to Stanford 12!! Hitting% was .260 to Stanford .186 Franti - .310 Washington - .409 Thelen .364 Lee .229
Service errors (not good) was 12. I believe that cost us set 1. Our defense looked pretty good today! In the end "Defense wins championships"

Our defense looked pretty good today! In the end "Defense wins championships" 12 service errors is acceptable and you are right they were heavy in game 1. We really stressed them with our serve later in the match and simply wore Plummer down. Our defense was outstanding in game 4 and 5....especially Weiskircher(she has been playing very well)

Congratulations ladies, you are proving yourselves to be very determined. I love how you are winning on the road. I hope the injuries all heal soon and we can stay healthy for the season. We are - Penn State.

That would guarantee PSU four straight cupcakes, right? The B1G is gonna be a grind. I was uncertain about a few teams that really remained question marks, and they have really proven themselves this weekend. Minny wining 3-1 at Texas is a statement, and Purdue beat Creighton. Nebraska has Hunter back and handled UCLA in two sweeps--convincing sweeps, with no really close sets. That's ridiculous. The match @ Minny is the most dangerous. Both Wisconsin matches will be rough. @ Purdue will be tough. And Nebraska at home won't be easy. Illinois COULD have swept Stanford yesterday, so don't overlook them. Michigan State is still a question mark, but can be dangerous. Michigan is trending down. Ohio State? Eh. Just gotta take it one match at a time. But you can bet the Nebraska planning will begin very soon.
