Penn State's RPI may take a big hit due in part by results of certain BIG 10 matches today! Playing Rutgers didn't help them either.

Don’t think it matters. If they win both matches they will be number one seed Should be. Who would jump over them? In that scenario they would be co champs of toughest conference in volleyball with only loss comming to another top 4 team and already have beaten one of other top 4 twice. I can’t see any scenario if they win both they won’t be top seed. With 4 total losses it won’t be Nebraska. It cant be Stanford as state above reasons. Who’s left Florida. Don’t see it. In any case got to worry about final weekend first before any of that matters.

With RPI, the biggest points (50%) come from opponents w/l % so when Penn State's opponents lose Penn State loses. Also, Penn State received zero bonus points this week. Without bonuses Penn State was #2 behind Florida this week. I think next weekend if Penn State wins both matches they should regain any lossses in RPI ranking so I wouldn't worry about it right now. You may see a drop tomorrow morning when I post the RPI update. There are still a couple of teams still playing.

Also, if any of the top 25 teams lose and fall outside the #25 RPI, then Penn State won't get double bonus points from that teams ranking. I think next weekend Penn State should regain any lossses in RPI ranking so I wouldn't worry about it right now. Just that we may see a drop tomorrow morning when I post the RPI update. Well having the two worst teams in conference same weekend with one of them maybe being one of worst programs in college it would be expected but next weekends back to back should counter balance that providing they win both. Colorado won again so that’s good for psu. That minny loss I don’t get. Does Penn State lose points for that if they beat minny but now gain for Illinois wins since they move up. It’s all confusing

It’s all confusing We lose points from Minny because their w/l % goes down but you also have to look at all of Penn State's past opponents to see if their w/l% went up or down today. That's just the 50% of RPI points. Still have to look at the other 25% of RPI score where you have to look at all of Penn State's opponents opponents w/l % for today. Lot's of numbers to deal with
