I dunno. I've detected a lot more animus toward PSU by Audrey Faull. But i understand the sibling rivalry angle. That's because she doesn't like that you keep calling her Audrey Faull, when her name is Audrey Flaugh Actually, I'm in the minority about her -- I like her. I don't think she dislikes Penn State at all. She was over-the-moon about Micha Hancock and Deja McClendon. You sure? Oh well.. . Thanks for the correction If I had any self-respect I'd be embarrassed. And as long as I'm not embarrassed, I'll admit that she usually does a professional job. For me, there were a few exceptions that have soured me.

Great adjustment in set 2 to Purdue's change in strategy for the match. Overall, great win! Love, once again, seeing the smooth flow of the play from the team. You can see the plays developing on each play and the communications was excellent in today's match. It was like watching a choreographed dance! Even though set 3 was not great, because the offense was so evenly distributed and the defense was so effective, I felt like tis match was our best performance of this season.

They showed lot of resilience in the face of adversity and killer instinct in the 4th set. When you look at the quality of the opposition combined with playing in a hostile environment, I agree that this might be their best effort so far. It bodes well going forward.

I have been calling Thelen the 'x' factor all season. If she plays well we have a much better chance to win convincingly (as opposed to grinding out close ones). Partly my designation for Heidi is based on the fact that we have not seen consistent scoring from her over her career. The improvement in her game is palpable, and last night was literally a career performance.
She still is not a traditional RS, hitting often on half slides off of one foot. But she also had several good direct attacks, and seemed to hit harder last night than I recall seeing previously. Unlike Lee and Washington though, Heidi is not yet able to kill a poor set. So as they go to her more, the setters have to get Heidi more consistent balls to hit. That is not a simple thing to fix, since a good percentage of RS attacks are in transition or out of system.
With Detering's declining percentage as the RS, we really need what Thelen gave us last night.

Heidi Thelen had 14 kills, hit .542 and had 5 blocks and 4 digs.
Ali Frantti led with 15 kills, Simone Lee had 13 and 12 digs.
Haleigh Washington had 10 kills, 4 digs and 6 blocks.

Great stats all around! Loved the killer instinct shown last night. Although we dropped sets to Ohio State, that killer instinct was shown in the next set with the 25-9 fourth set win.
Confident play. Good execution and adjustments. What a team effort!

All Hail Heidi one who has found a place and excels. CONGRATILATIONS ONA SUPERB PERFORMANCE I really wish that the photos shown in the future could honor the lovely ladies without their mouths wide open!. Totally w/you on the congratulations! But the Lions' Roar seems to be the classic post-stuff post-kill post-tool pose by the posse. It's been this cohort's go-to mode of celebration, and i think the photographers and social media folks are trying to capture the moment. Of course, I saw another on the Daily Collegian where Heidi's mouth was shut but her shirt was exposing her entire 6-pack as she made a mid-air K. LOL.
