In fairness, I guess we'd have to ask garden gnomes. I should add that I generally am strongly against commenting on the appearance of players or staff -- and that hasn't changed. But gnu's comment was, I thought, clever (I recognize there is some hypocrisy on my part here) -- capturing something about Sheffield's expression that played into a basic dislike I have of Sheffield -- that he is almost always scowling. And he is also almost always standing on the sidelines. So it's really hard to avoid seeing his scowling visage throughout the game. The image of an angry garden gnome somehow fit, and made me laugh. But I am not endorsing comments about personal appearance. Let's generally steer clear of those. This is the "garden gnome exception." And it only applies to Sheffield in this thread. I can't say I felt guilty for the original post, but I do feel bad for leading you astray. Sometimes, the way people appear reminds of something and sometimes I share my thoughts when I shouldn't. I'll try to avoid doing this in the future. This can be our one-time exception.

I watched video posted on WI athletics site of Sheff after the game. I was surprised at how human and genuine he seemed...and complimentary to so many of our players. He also made separate comments I read about Reed and her impact on the game. He seemed totally not defensive about their predicament and focused on the post-conference play...and his belief in his team. Worth seeing. Still so happy they did not succeed. Do you have a link to that video interview?

Do you have a link to that video interview? I think traveler is talking about the pre match video. I couldn't find any post match videos on WI site. Here is pre-match video from 23 Oct press conference that is on WI site and on their YT channel.

Was that recently? And was it on GoPSUsports.com? Because I think they had a glitch for awhile, but fixed it. If it wasn't on GAoPSUsports.com, do you remember where it was? Because I think it is important to keep our Kendall's straight (I once posted about Nia Grant, but typed Nia Reed -- talk about Nia Culpa). It might have been. It was one of the articles recapping last nights win. Also when u go to stats on gametracker I’ve seen kendell pierces photo under digs section a few times instead of whites. Which match/win?

But I think he is blowing some serious smoke when he says 1) this year's Penn State team is the most physical Penn State team he's ever seen (I think he probably meant "coached against"); 2) this is the best PSU team he has seen/coached against, and 3) Haleigh Washington is maybe the most PHYSICAL middle in the Big Ten EVER. 1) see 2013 team; 2) see 2013 or 2014 teams; 3) just going back to 2013 = Tori Dixon.
