This is the point of the season where top teams in their conference start beating each other up.

Previously unbeaten Arizona State goes down real bad in 3 sets(6-25, 26-28, 16-25) to Washington. They had an injury to one of their OH(resting her on Sun) and hope to evaluate her injury soon. It may or may not be serious. "Macey Gardner left the match with a left leg injury. Gardner will be rested as a precaution for Sunday’s match at Washington State, and will be evaluated upon the team’s return to Tempe."

Minnesota just took down Nebraska at Devaney Center 3-1! Wow! So maybe a 3-2 win over the Gophers wasn't so bad after all.

Minnesota just took down Nebraska at Devaney Center 3-1! Yes! Very nice. Just shows how much tougher the Big Ten is this year vs last year.

The Devaney Center IS NOT the Coliseum. It doesn't give them nearly as much home field advantage as before.
Door opened just a bit wider thanks to Minnesota.
I am convinced Minnesota has at least 2 more losses coming to them.

I was impressed w/MN play last night, although things did get hinky here and there... BTW, I watched parts of the NW v Purdue match yesterday. NW just a shell of what they were v. PSU. Taylor Tashima looked merely mortal. Abbott just another (good) player. sigh.

Watching several of the Minnesota matches from early on moving forward, Coach Hugh has them so fine tuned...and it's only getting better! Their demeanor on the court, as well as their positioning during points, and athleticism, is really enviable. No over celebrating, but not too tense as to forget their game plan. They took Nebraska to task, and truly did outplay them in all aspects of the game. Nebraska looked like they had no answer, even when they stepped up their play and relied on the crowd. In my humble opinion, Coach Hugh has molded them into a top 5 team. I cannot see them losing again, unless they have an off night. No real weaknesses. Strong, smart fast setter. Nice to see them rising to prominence again. Oh, and watch out for Michigan State. They too are coming together at the right time, with perhaps the best overall setter who isn't named Carlini! Hope we can be on our game tonight. Will need to receive and pass exceptionally well. MSU serves strong. Their receiving game seemed their only minimal weakness, if you can call it that. They have shown 'off' nights, unlike Minnesota. Hope we catch them on one of those 'off' nights! Any word on OSU setter? Her injury to elbow could be long term injury. Hope she is okay.

Every team has weaknesses. Yes they looked good last night but I'm not convinced they will be there at the end. Their OH2 situation and Santana's ability to sustain are glaring weaknesses

I am convinced Minnesota has at least 2 more losses coming to them. Yes, I agree about Devaney. In fact, I've had this odd feeling since last year that NE plays with more pressure on themselves at home than they do on the road. Could be me, but the psychology of trying to please the multitudes at Devaney may get to some players at times. That's why I hope PSU never changes REC Hall. Just leave it as is. Maybe it's just superstitious of me to say that, but don't jinx a good thing. I too get the feeling that MN has at least one more loss coming, but then again, I can't help thinking that PSU has one coming as well. The X-factor in MN vs PSU match, I think, was the coaching. Hugh McCutcheon had a better lineup setup and strategy, but I noticed that coach Rose didn't allow himself to get out-coached vs Michigan. He learned his lesson vs Northwestern and made a pretty interesting lineup change in the 5th set.
