Penn State has always carried themselves business like. They know what’s at stake and the main goal is.

Hey PSUMaui...who are those people in red raising our trophy? BTW, B1G announcement on bigten.org gives their overall record, but not ours. Lol I caught that, too! 😡

Hey PSUMaui...who are those people in red raising our trophy? BTW, B1G announcement on bigten.org gives their overall record, but not ours. Lol I caught that, too! 😡 It’s ok when psu wins title they will have no choice but to talk psu. In the end psu gets validation from the only people that matter. Their university, their fans and their family. The rest not really important to them cause their goal isn’t conference it’s national title. Sure they are not dwelling on the fact that Nebraska got the attention for that. Let them have it for now I say. More attention creates more pressure.

And ,273 hitting which isn't bad for OH's. Man, did I panic! I know Lee plays a big role on the team. Her serve receive appeared to hold up for the most part. But the offense made me crazy. Gonna watch on BTN2Go again. (Hint: we win!) Go, State! Let’s get these NCAAs. Like someone said, go 1-0 x 6.

Any close set, I think we're gonna win it. I was actually surprised we lost set 3. Just have confidence in the mental toughness and composure of this group.

it struck me that Beth Karpak seemed to reference again and again how 'young' the MN team is. OK, we get it. But our senior-laden team had 7 of the 8 current seniors on the team and floor as freshman when they won the whole enchilada back in '14, In some cases, freshmen have fresh legs. I remember in ?2010? when we were lagging in the tourney and Darcy Dorton and Katie Slay (i'm probably combining or confusing years, but it's otherwise correct) refused to let the team fold. At any rate, it seemed like the home announcers were trying to shield the team from responsibility. During live action, I'd prefer less of the blame game or blame-shifting and just watch [and commentate] on the game.
But I do love having commentators who know the game! I wonder if there is anything our SID could do to bring in folks who know there's a back-set but not a back-slide. Know that a lob is not a float. know that... I know they tried something during Broerman's RS year, but she did not have the chops for broadcasting (few of us do). Wonder what Kaleena is doing?

Yes I get a little frustrated with announcers who misuse terms. This is especially problematic when I am listing only. Penn State's go to announcer persists in saying that the team is returning to the 6/2 when both of our setters are on the floor, when of course that has little to do with it. I also groan when an analyst makes unsupported excuses for a team, or worse, over simplifies. (eg: an ace serve is blamed on the receiver being "tentative.")
Still, it is difficult to speak extemporaneously and swiftly for 90 minutes or to provide useful and interesting color commentary in the space of 10 seconds. Those that can do such things are pretty rare. Consider hockey play by play announcers for example. Those guys are amazing and have machine guns in their mouths.

Wonder what Kaleena is doing? Being a MOM (twice over) and loving every minute of it. She has appeared at matches this year to support the team. Another example of the wonderful women this program churns out.
