looks like former recruit Lexi sun was granted her release from Texas today
rumor is its not due to distance as she is a west coast gal
and that penn state may have a shot

Well, a husker poster there wrote that she is headed to the B1G, so I fear it's them. And that will just fuel my hatred even more.

I need some background on something
Seems that when Paulina P. transferred from Penn State to Texas she was able to play immediately judging from her Texas profile.
So if Sun were to transfer to Penn State (I would hope that J Elloit would allow this to happen based upion Russ allowing Paulina to transfer to Texas not that long ago)
I assume that she would be eligible to play immediately.
That assumes a lot of things obviously (sholarship availability, playing time, etc)
Bit why didnt Paulina have to sit out a year per NCAA transfer rules as a scholarship player ?
Boy if Sun were to transfer the future sure looks a hell of a lot brighter on the pins than it did a week ago

Boy if Sun were to transfer the future sure looks a hell of a lot brighter on the pins than it did a week ago The NCAA rules are different for women's vb than they are for football or basketball: if original school grants release, a player can transfer without sitting out a year or losing any eligibility. The exception (which also has exceptions) is for in-conference transfers. So Paulina could transfer to Texas without sitting out, but if she wanted to transfer to Indiana, she would have had to sit out a year. |

Interconference (P Cerame, Knopp): immediate ability to play. Intraconference (Yanz): sit out. Not sure if this is an NCAA-wide rule, but I have not found a case where it didn't apply. However, Coach often has a card up his sleeve...and might have someone redshirt for reasons he does not disclose. |
