Anyone else seeing she's headed to Nebraska? Anyone able to confirm? Update: I can confirm it myself. And I don't feel well

Yup! But we'll need to see how that works out for them. Lexi comes with some questions based on her level of effort at Texas.

Yeah, it is worrisome. I mean, she won the National Championship for Texas as a freshman, though one has to give credit to the great supporting cast she had. Oh wait . . . . . Kidding aside, she's a great player. Moving on.

We have't recruited an elite top level pin hitter since 2014 and now have to accept this. Did Russ even try to get Lexi?

The word was that she was "homesick" and wanted to return to Southern California. Lincoln, Nebraska isn't at all like San Diego.

I'm sure Russ would rather finish 0-20 in the B1G than go after this year's "shiny object."

There also may have been an issue with scholarship availability. Finally, she may have simply preferred the Nebraska hoopla etc. to the Coach Rose understated approach. And, there is -- we have to admit it -- a certain cachet that comes with being the reigning NCAA Champions.

IMO Nebraska should now be the preseason #1 team in the country for 2018. They most likely would have been anyway because the previous winner is usually #1 in the next preseason poll. At the moment they project to be the best team on paper in my opinion.
Don't forget Sun was Gatorade NPOY and prevolleyball.com Senior Ace #1. I don't know why it didn't work as well as expected at Texas but I expect her to be a dominating force at Nebraska. Nebraska has better passing to assist Sun if she gets in trouble passing the ball. They can hide her to some extent.

The good news is, "Right now incoming freshman Nicklin Hames is the only setter on the [Nebraska] roster." I am a bad person!

Yup! But we'll need to see how that works out for them. Lexi comes with some questions based on her level of effort at Texas.??------During her freshman year at Texas, Sun was a unanimous All-Big 12 pick and honorable-mention All-American, averaging 3.27 kills per set and ranked second on the team in kills with 337. And obviously made the Big-12 all freshman 1st team. As for how it will work out-----anyone with a pulse who has followed coach Cook and Nebraska for any length of time this is as obvious a win-win as it gets. Coach Cook has a loooooooong track record recruiting/developing and putting a PREMIUM on all-around 6 rotation players. Lexi is as straight forward at it gets stating her desire to become a solid all-around 6 rotation player as she has serious designs on playing professionally once her college playing days are done and realizes that the pro game also puts a premium on an all-around 6 rotation skill set. No other college coach in the nation has Cooks track record of putting a premium on full rotation players. He in fact is at odds with the rules committee in this regard as he was adamantly apposed to the many of the substitution rules changes which devalued full rotation players in the college game. Given coach's Cooks track record with developing full rotation players, you can pretty much take it to the bank he'll morph Lexi into a formidable and dangerous full rotation player post haste. Russ Rose would have most likely done the same with her. I'll admit I'm first a Huskerfan but as a VOLLEYBALL fan I also have tremendous respect for Russ Rose and PSU volleyball. Four in a row anyone ? That will most likely never be seen/done again by anyone. In last seasons Nebraska vs PSU semi final match, had those two PSU players not tripped over each other when PSU had match point on Nebraska my money would be on PSU winning the point and eliminating Nebraska. It was a once in lifetime fluke which allowed Nebraska to survive that elimination moment. IMHO that match was the championship match because had PSU taken out Nebraska I'm 100% sure PSU wold have dispatched Florida easily.

Nebraska's incoming #1 nationally ranked setter is going to have some massive shoes to fill. How many true freshman setters have led their teams to national championships? While Lexi is a dangerous front row player, it's going to take some time and hard work to replace Annika's back row prowess. Stivrin's won't have Briana Holeman to spell her at MB this season. All that being said, at this time last season NO WAY did I consider Nebraska a national championship contender given what they lost to graduation. PSU on the other hand IMHO is ALWAYS a national championship contender.
