That would be 5 losses...did you forget that we lost tonight already?
Noooo!!! OK, I think we can beat Wisconsin. Hah! How's that?
Eh...if we played them first before Minnesota I might be more optimistic. Can we beat Michigan at home?
Ugh. Purdue dropped a set at Rutgers last night! And we were sooooo close to a sweep.

Trying to not be too pessimistic. I think the only thing to blame for this loss is the natural inconsistency of the freshman. Blossom will have her time, as for now I’m all for Bryanna.

The 10/22 Futures had us at 23-7, which would be 6-4 down the stretch:
6-4 is doable down the stretch for PSU. The losses? Nebraska, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota.
At least we haven't reached Hawaii lows... they're talking about the Wahine not even making the tourney this year. That would be a first since 1981 (or something).
Since 1982, there are only 2 teams make the NCAA every year, Stanford and PSU

Hawaii only missed the tournament once before: 1992. Let’s not think about who missed the tournament. Lots of season left to play. We are...in need of more wins!!

Why aren't the middles involved? Is the passing that bad? They should have started blossom again. Watching her yesterday she sets middles a lot more No she didn't.

Losing 18/20 in the 5th shows a team that did not give up. Yes 3rd set was unattractive but they never quit. Would all you so critical be good teammates???

Granted that we weren't getting kills at crucial times in various sets. But it seems to me that the biggest issue was that we couldn't stop Atkinson. She hit .518 with 32 3 56. Virtually no errors and we couldn't block her to save our lives. She was terminating almost at will. It seemed that the only thing that was stopping her were bad sets/OOS balls. When they needed a kill, they went to her, whether she was front court or back court.

Also, only Hord showed up tonite. As some said, it appeared that whatever happened to Parker (ankle maybe?) seemed to affect her play. On the other hand, she wasn't getting set nearly as much as Reed and Leath. Serena had an off night. So it's going to be tough to win with only 1 of the 3 freshmen hitters playing well.

It’s fine though I think I’ve seen enough psu sports this year. Frustrating me too much. Think I’m switching to pay attention to Stanford rest of year to keep from getting angry so much The good news is wrestling season is just around the corner.

Funny, that's what my brother was saying also. He's a hugh PSU wrestling fan.

Yeah I’m sorry though the seniors cannot let a set like 3 happen. Psu old teams would have never let that happen PSU 2014 let it happen at home against Illinois. This is an excellent point. Many of you should go back to Volleytalk "archives" in 2014 and look at what was said during and after the loss to Illinois. As you remember, the 2014 team had some noteworthy accomplishments, but it did have an off night against Illinois. I don't think this year's team quite matches what PSU had in 2014, but they're probably better than they performed last night. Given all the challenges they face, periodic failures can never be unexpected. We'll have to see how resilient they are. I'm sure the team they meet in the Devaney will be happy to challenge them.
