Great article as usual Ethan. Three very exciting additions to an already hugely talented squad. Let's hope that the season gets under way on schedule in August. Stay safe everyone.

Ethan, I was browsing through your many articles and, dated Jan 24th, I read..."Anastasiya Kudryashova, a 6-foot-4 outside hitter from Novosibirsk, Russia, has transferred from Rutgers to Penn State women’s volleyball after spending the last two seasons in New Brunswick." Is this transfer still going to happen? She hasn't been mentioned again since then, as far as I can see.

Yes, she's enrolled in classes at Penn State this spring and will be a member of the 2020 team. Since spring practice was canceled due to the coronavirus, she and the rest of the Nittany Lions have had to train remotely, which makes things slightly more difficult, especially for an incoming transfer like Kudryashova. I'm sure her teammates have gotten her up to speed relatively quickly, though.

Thanks, Ethan, Love to read articles about our future Lions, If they are half as good as the articles portray them to be, then we have 3 positive students to look forward to. Welcome, Quinn, Anjelina, and Rachel may your time at PSU be happy and fruitful.

The Russian player and for that matter the 100s of 1,000s of international students attending college in the United States must all have their plans up in the air at this point. It is questionable how much international travel will be permitted into the U.S in August. Hopefully all the Coronavirus lockdown is done this summer but it may not be.

Some great news about incoming recruits especially 2020! Anyone else concerned there are no middles in the mix in 2020, 2021? Kait and Serena have there spots secure, but what if 1 goes down heaven forbid? A lot of these kids can play different spots. Converting a hitter? At least Tori, Amanda, and someone like Heidi played the position.
Thoughts? Any dirt on a recruit for middles in 2022 or 23?

Flowers led Memphis in kills each of the last three seasons (1,005 so far in her career), so her addition provides a giant boost for the Nittany Lions in 2020.

Here’s an article I wrote on Flowers’ arrival and what she’s been able to accomplish so far during her volleyball career. The Wildwood, Missouri, native won four straight Class 4A state championships at Lafayette High School and went 122-21-3 while she was a member of the team. Flowers has already earned her undergraduate degree in accounting and will now pursue a master’s in the subject at University Park. She will be the only senior on Penn State’s 2020 roster. www.dignittanyvolleyball.com/penn-state-volleyball-lands-memphis-transfer-hannah-flowers/

Sorry I have to maintain an objective viewpoint. It's exciting a new grad transfer will be coming to Penn State. However while she was at Memphis the team was 38-52. So that's a team in the bottom half of a relatively weak conference.
Will she be one of the top players in the nation or even in the B1G to help take Penn State to the final four?
If Penn State has to rely on transfers does that mean the recruiting of prep players is no longer what it use to be?
